Headed to Florida

Hello there. My name is Roger, I'm a current member of KSWCC, that's Kentucky Star Wars Collectors Club. I'm currently planning on moving to central Florida in the next few months. Most likely just a bit north of Orlando.

I thought's I'd do some advanced scouting to see what kind of club activity there is in the area, and it seem's that there is a LOT.

I'm a fan of many things, Star Wars is obviously one of them. I have a very large G.I. Joe collection, though only a modest Star Wars collection. Never-the-less this move is a major transition in my life, and it will include liquidating a lot of my collection, and getting down to just the very best stuff.

I should be attending Mega Con in a few weeks during our first house hunting trip. So perhaps I'll meet a few of you there.

Orlando System: The First Ten Years

We can look forward to a lot of milestones in 2012. It will see the beginning of the 3D Saga releases and will bring a Star Wars Celebration home to Orlando again. Not least of these is the Tenth Anniversary of our own humble Orlando System. The club began as a FanForce on TheForce.net message boards. Posts there go back to the year 2000, but over the next year, many were calls for organization and complaints that nothing was happening.

Several members got together in December of 2001, and in January 2002, anticipating Celebration II and Episode II: Attack of the Clones, the group coalesced, and named itself THE ORLANDO SYSTEM. I've got some ideas of how to celebrate this decade of fandom and I hope to keep the celebration going all year long.

What are your memories of The Orlando System? When did you join and what are some of your favorite moments?

Hey I just wanted to let everyone know I am free of my workers comp case we settled it friday and things are looking good, my back is not 100% but I don't have to deal with them snooping into my life any more and watching everything I do. It is a good feeling to have that off my shoulders and 2012 is looking great! !!!!!

A long time ago in a gallery far far away artists Deon Blackwell, Adam Kitzerow, and Vincent Kral unleashed the Star Wars themed exhibition entitled “I Have a Very Bad Feeling About This….”

The artists have returned in full force to present the exhibition's sequel, “I Still Have a Bad Feeling About This!” on December 9th from 7:00pm at the West Tampa Center for the Arts (WTCA), located at 1906 N. Armenia Avenue (in the historic Santaella Cigar Factory), Tampa, FL.

Adventure World

Anyone else playing the Facebook game Indiana Jones Adventure World? It's by the Yoville people, Zynga. If Indy wasn't a factor and influence I'd never be sucked into this, but I'm enjoying the addiction for the moment. If you're one of the people that remembers the old Indiana Jones and His Desktop Adventures, it's very similar. The bad news is that it's a time waster and it encourages you to ask your friends to join and constantly help you. The upside is that it's Indy, it includes actual Indiana Jones music (along with original "adventuring" music), and it's pretty creative.

Why have they not made a Dorme figure yet but they have one of Rabe who didn't even have any lines in the movie. Also why are they making another Padme figure in her purple Naboo battle outfit but still haven't made one of her in her rainbow dress from Attack of the clones when Anakin first kissed her? I want both those figures made very badly......

Well I was really looking forward to going and now I don't know if I will have time off work. I am posting this here either way because I might get a break at the last minute and be able to go. I have never had the opportunity to go to an event like this . I know that most tables could be filled with dolls, trains, plates and things like that. But just like at an antique shop, there are usually a few hidden vintage action figures mixed in. Even if I went and didn't find anything, I would still have fun seeing a variety of pop culture collectibles all in one place.
