The one that was expected to be released later this year to celebrate the 30th Anniversary? Yeah... maybe not so much anymore. We've been hearing from multiple sources now that the folks up at Lucasburg were surprised enough at the lackluster sales of last year's Star Wars Trilogy DVD re-run ("Now with Han shoots first!" ) that they're afraid they might have gone to the Sarlacc Pit one too many times, so to speak. There's talk apparently that the box set could get delayed a year or two to amp up demand for the films on disc again. Don't know how serious this all is, but that's the word that's blowing in the wind.

I just don't...

The galaxy far, far away seemed so fully realized in ANH. Clunky spacecraft, rundown vehicles and buildings, dark alleys, immaculate Imperial technology and construction, it was all there. It was expanded in TESB much to my delight with Hoth, the asteroid field, Cloud City. Fantastic yet tangible environments. The galaxy seemed a little smaller in ROTJ (a forest planet? seen that, a death star? seen that, Dagobah? Tatooine? Been there, done that) but the end space battle made up for any retreads earlier in the film.

TPM is probably the most visually appealing film. Not just in the PT, but the saga as well. When I think of TPM I think of it as a "warm" film. Most of our time is spent on Naboo and Tatooine and those were both visually interesting environments that felt mainly tangible. I think only TESB would top it in overall visual aesthetics (it certainly has the best cinematography of any of the films). However, TPM also has an element that only got worse...

A recent one was about Leia's assertion that she remembers her mother when Luke asks her. I think Rebelscum's Question Mark column gives a provocative explanation for this:

Quote:
It was very clear in Return of the Jedi, Luke asks Leia what she remembers about her real mother; this would have to be Padm. Luke then goes on to state that he has no memory of his mother, that he never knew her. The skip in continuity is that at the at the end of Revenge of the Sith we see Padm hold Luke, but we never see her holding Leia. In keeping with the continuity, Leia should have been born first - held by Padm, and Luke should have been born second held by Obi-Wan as Padm dies. Big bummer, but it...
