Wow! Technology has certainly made its way to the home computer. I'm doing research on how to accomplish some of the Star Wars special effects and came across this video. I suspect many of you have seen it before, but think of the fun we could have at SWGFA events if we could do this, or similar things, ourselves.

When I was at the Megacon Mini. My friend, Christian Slade, gave me an idea to start a Star Wars sketchbook. Well I ran with the idea. He inaugurated it with a drawing of Yoda and Sprout. One of his characters from his book Korgi. I am hoping to get more artists to draw in my book. When i go back to conventions I will get more.

Lucasfilm author Bonnie Burton, head of starwars.com/kids, is working on an upcoming book- Star Wars Crafts. There are a number of crafts featured on the site with many more being developed for the book. Might be fun for the creative types in the OS, especially those that have kids around!

Among the creations of fans come some pretty interesting food items. Russ made us a cool, sadly unphotographed, Darth Vader cake last year and there have been no less than three Star Wars cookbooks officially released.

Except for SW Easter Eggs, I've never made anything like this, but I did find a creative Gingerbread AT-AT online. Take a look! Have you made special SW foods? Even old birthday/holiday cakes with a Star Wars theme would be nifty to see or hear about. Share them here.

Custom Figures and Accessories

It's strange that I hear there are so many people that customize figures and up to now there's been no one in the OS that showed off their wares. Use this thread to post your own projects and plans or your favorites from other people.

I don't customize, but I have a great appreciation for those that do. Recently I've found some great stuff on Yakface.com and just today I discovered Owen's Customs. Here are a few of my favorites from his work.

This is a great article on a baby stroller spotted at Celebration IV that has been modified to look like an AT-AT. I'm still not ready for kids, but this gets me a step closer.

Thought I'd throw this up here for any who might be interested... I've been Rp'ing here with a group of cool people, and we've got a pretty good plot going. This is a yahoo based group that RP's mainly in chat conference, and sometimes does Board post rp.

Before I link the site, there's a warning. Might not be suitable for younger folks. Definately a PG-13 rating for the In character content, sometimes worse for the random discussion. (In other words, feel free to strike this thread if it's found to be unsuitable. )

Anyone in the System into modeling? There's a plethora of SW models out there from a Custom Luke Skywalker Van to the upcoming Japanese Fine Molds Slave I. I've only picked up a handful of models, but there are people out there that take it just as seriously as the most obsessive toy collector or costumer. Anybody out there have experience with models? -Campbell
