Thanks, Campbell! Glad you enjoyed the photos. The museum is a five minute walk from my office in downtown, so I walked over there the other day with camera in hand. They didn't say anything about not taking photos, but they did have signs posted all over the place that flash photography was strictly prohibited and everything was under video surveillance. So...I did my best with the somewhat poor lighting provided.
When I win the lottery, I'm going to send you on assignment to document the Science Fiction Museum in Seattle. That place was dark and I think you might be able to pull much more of the scene than I was.
Chris, great job on the photos from the Tampa Museum of History's exhibit of this. I was very disappointed at the low lighting and express prohibition of photgraphs when it was in Orlando. Did you have to get special permission as press, or did they just let you take the shots? Either way, THANK YOU, these are great and help me remember what a nice display they had.

Anyone else, if you haven't seen these shots, check out Chris's gallery at Rebelscum. Hopefully the tour will swing back through Florida in the future.

I don't want to oversell the exhibit, but it was better than I thought it would be. There are probably 20-30 costumes and several more props and models all displayed very well. Lucasfilm was well-represented donating a full Vader costume with lightsaber, a Stormtrooper helmet, Luke's saber and chopped-off hand from ESB, an X-Wing pilot jumpsuit, an Indiana Jones Last Crusade jacket and Holy Grail, Indy's whip and the headpiece of Ra from Raiders and an Imperial Officer costume courtesy of a private collector. The highlights for me were Alec Guiness's Jedi Robe from Star Wars and a couple of costumes from Blade Runner. Star Trek is also featured a number of times; fans of all sorts have something to see.

I'll definitely be heading back and recommend the show to anyone that likes movies. The gift shop is stocked with interesting Sci-Fi/Action/Fantasy items including Episode I Taco Bell cups, those metal "trading" cards from the early 90s, the latest keychains, and patches...
