I did a round of the Laser Tag on Thursday. Although it was fun (the guns were amazingly fun to use) I was hoping for some Star Wars "props" to hide behind. I mean how hard would it have been to have "Ice Blocks" instead of a WWII truck? Also it would have been better if they had groups of kids & adults seperate. Really, I'm not griping I had a blast just maybe some suggestions for Celebration VI.

Interesting. Though I have to admit the most interesting part was seeing the Death Star swing- I certainly never noticed that from the floor.

As fr the Ice Bar not being chilled- I thought that was the whole point. I figured it'd be like a cooler in there.

Really nothing to write home about if you weren't getting a drink. When I went, it was crowded, did not have a lot of Hoth style characters in attendance, and seemed more disco themed than SW themed except for the ice sculptures, which were melting because the room wasn't chilled.

Now that would be fun! I played laser tag at CIV and had fun. There was nothing SW in the set, just the big yellow inflatables. The opposing team was costumed Stormtroopers and other Imperial characters. It seemed unintentionally rigged because they had the troopers wear their sensor around their shoulder/armpit,...

I know Stephen did the Speed Dating thing but I don't know what he ended up thinking about it. His parents said that at the end of it you were supposed to check your card or ID or something and you could see which, if anyone, "chose" you. It reminds me of getting Valentines in grade school. Some kids get a lot, some do not.

I saw at least one person from our SWGFA attending the speed dating event (no, not me...and not C-Man). I didn't say anything b/c I thought they may not want it public. From the brief glimpse I had inside the door, it looked like the people in the room were having a good time.

Campbell - I did actually see a couple of troopers in the mix for laser tag on Saturday. However, from what I could see from waiting on line up above, the actual laser tag event was far from what was advertised. This was one of the bigger things I had on my list to do, but playing laser tag in the middle of WWII trucks wasn't really 'Star Warsy'.

If the economy were doing better, and CV had not been so tight with other big shows, I would bet our numbers would have been higher. Not a bad attendance, all things considered.

Did anyone do the Laser Tag? I saw, only from the skywalk, the Indiana Jones-style truck in the middle of the floor, but nothing else seemed Star Wars-themed.

That brings up an interesting question. I wonder, how much was SWW attendance impacted due to Celebration V being in the same town. It seemed like SWW was busier than ever this year as parking was overflowing by midday each day I went. I attributed it to the new generation of kids turned on by Clone Wars popularity.

I'm very surprised that the show only had 28,000 attendees, as I hoped that it'd be the biggest one yet. Then again, going by the numbers in the Commemorative Guide (program), that number is right on track with every Celebration except CIV in LA.

Celebration I, 1999 Denver: 12,000
Celebration II, 2002 Indianapolis: 27,000
Celebration III, 2005...

I don't think that estimate is bad. I expected the total to not be as high as C4 but we had to have it here. It gave all the east coast fans a chance to attend. I definately was not going to LA for C4 and that has nothing to do with my financial situation. I would have gone to C4 if it was anywhere east of TX . I guess I'm weird because I would sooner attend C6 in Chicago than in NYC.

I was trying to find out if the numbers went down at all for San Diego Comic Con. So far, it looks like they just keep getting more people each year regardless of econimic conditions.
