One of my least favorite parts of Celebration V came when George Lucas named the homeworld of Obi-Wan Kenobi as "Stewjon." I would have just as soon heard that Jaxxon was going to be a central character in Episodes VII-IX. Well, this unseemly factoid looks like it's becoming more and more solidified as canon. Check out Wookieepedia's entry for Stewjon and the lameness keeps on coming. This is right up there with Avatar's macguffin, "Unobtainium." I always thought that element should have been called, "Realhardtogetium."

Due to a scene in a Jedi Apprentice book where Kenobi he recalled memories such as eating fruit with his brother in a grassy area, the whiz kids at LFL have determined, "Stewjon was a small terrestrial planet, whose atmosphere was a breathable oxygen mix and whose gravity was standard. The thought entered my mind a few times that the death star swinging back and forth might be acting as a pendulum. I originally thought it was the air conditioning blowers, but it's oscillating at a very regular speed. Anyhow, food for thought.

I believe this bodes well for our chances at getting a future Celebration. This is just a guess, but I suspect this Celebration was a lot cheaper to produce than the one in LA because it's a less expensive city. While I hear lots of jokes about how hot it is in Orlando I've generally heard people saying this was the best Celebration yet. Cheaper + Big success = Happy LFL and Reed, methinks.

I did a round of the Laser Tag on Thursday. Although it was fun (the guns were amazingly fun to use) I was hoping for some Star Wars "props" to hide behind. I mean how hard would it have been to have "Ice Blocks" instead of a WWII truck? Also it would have been better if they had groups of kids & adults seperate. Really, I'm not griping I had a blast just maybe some suggestions for Celebration VI.

As fr the Ice Bar not being chilled- I thought that was the whole point. I figured it'd be like a cooler in there.

Really nothing to write home about if you weren't getting a drink. When I went, it was crowded, did not have a lot of Hoth style characters in attendance, and seemed more disco themed than SW themed except for the ice sculptures, which were melting because the room wasn't chilled.

Now that would be fun! I played laser tag at CIV and had fun. There was nothing SW in the set, just the big yellow inflatables. The opposing team was costumed Stormtroopers and other Imperial characters. It seemed unintentionally rigged because they had the troopers wear their sensor around their shoulder/armpit,...

I know Stephen did the Speed Dating thing but I don't know what he ended up thinking about it. His parents said that at the end of it you were supposed to check your card or ID or something and you could see which, if anyone, "chose" you. It reminds me of getting Valentines in grade school. Some kids get a lot, some do not.
