Ben: If you choose to face Vader, you will do it alone. I cannot interfere. Can't he... or won't he? I know Yoda and Ben don't want Luke to leave Dagobah to follow Vader's bait, but once he indeed goes, why doesn't he receive any help from Ben? As he's half-dead below Cloud City Luke even calls for his mentor, "Ben... Ben, please," to no end. -Campbell

Despite our new Interviews thread, I've decided to put an excerpt of this interview here in the ESB thread. The article certainly focuses on Empire and it'll be a nice thing to find if anyone ever goes back through the thread right before or after watching the movie.

I am a frustrated filmmaker-wannabe so I generally "watch" the commentary on every movie I can find. Often I've even listened to it on movies
that I don't even like much just to learn about the process. It's especially easy while computing or doing chores around the house. If you've
recently seen the movie it often doesn't require you to watch the screen. I've been doing this since commentaries started when laserdiscs were the
videophiles preferred media.

As for Carrie Fisher's involvement, I know they chose her for two reasons- she's a central character that would participate and could tell "I was
there" stories and because she's had an ongoing professional relationship with Lucas over the years. It doesn't get a lot of airtime, but she has
been a very active script doctor in Hollywood for many years.
