Do you really think Wookies and Jedis wear underwear on set? Why should droids have to?
I'm sure George kept telling him; "don't worry, some day we'll be able to cover over that area with a CGI alien passing by".
Have you ever tried wearing metal briefs in the desert? It's no picnic.

Did you ever notice that in this teaser for Revenge of the Sith the shot where Ben Kenobi says "the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice," is not the shot from A New Hope? In the movie Ben says this while Luke is waving his new lightsaber.

I have seen Star Wars 500 time! No seriously, i Have seen it a lot. I have never realized that after the trash compactor scene. Luke and Han keep the Stormtrooper utility belts. Listening to the radio drama and then watching Star Wars Begins on You Tube. Sure enough they had them.

Funny you should mention watching Ep IV right now. In the last two days two of my non-Star Wars friends have mentioned watching that one this week. I think the Celebration coverage and my excitement is rubbing off on them. Anytime's a great time to watch one of the SW movies- you certainly don't have to go by the Episode of the Month schedule!

I'm posting really late for last October or really early for the one coming up. I watched A New Hope last night for the first time in a very long while noticed something that had escaped me all these years. A little back-story: I was 11 years old when this movie came out in 77' and I must have seen it 50 times in total. I had the Star Wars lunch box, x-wing fighter sheets, hollow tube light saber (wish I had kept it all), you name it.

Anyhow, maybe it's just age and perspective, but I noticed how little Luke reacted when his step-parents were barbecued by the empire as opposed to Ben, which Luke had only really known for about 24 hours, taking a light saber for the team requiring Luke to get consolation from Leia.

That's cold, Luke.

Also, I noticed Leia was (LEE-ah) in episode IV and (LAY-ah) in the following episodes. I'm new here, so pardon the simplicity of...

Courtney and I actually watched the Special Edition last night as well. My main purpose was looking at the backgrounds from Tunisia. Looking forward to recreating some of the scenes when we go. My new camera that shoots 1080p HD video should come in pretty handy with that.

I've actually had the opportunity to watch A New Hope a couple of times in the last week and really, really love it. One interesting thing was that during the first viewing I turned off all the subtitles for part of it so the Greedo scene had not translation. By the time Han meets Jabba (2004 edition) I had the subtitles on, so even though much of the content is overlapped, it didn't seem redundant at all. It's a strange way to watch the movie, but only hearing them ask Han about dropping his shipment once is more effective than how the scenes normally play one after the other.

I really was excited by the pacing of the movie and saw so many favorite moments that made me want to watch the movie again. The only scene that truly makes me cringe at this point is the "Han shoots awkwardly at the same time Greedo shoots" shot. Give me the original or give me death.

During my trip to Thailand I've had a great deal of pain due to a kidney stone and an implanted stent between my left kidney and bladder. This has left me laid up in my bedroom for several days and I've regretted not bringing the Star Wars DVDs with me. I've brought them on lots of trips, especially those I know will have lots of free time, and they have really made me feel at home and reconnected with things I love. This trip has been long, and the frustrations of my condition has made me wish I could pop in a Star Wars movie to take my mind away. Today, I happened to check on YouTube for Star Wars Revisited and was thrilled to see that the whole movie is available there in 13 parts{here's part one}. Watching this today has really brought my spirits up.

Some favorite changes that I'm noting are:
- The twin suns above Tatooine as the escape pod descends for re-entry.

That seems like a good question. I don't have a copy to check, but I do recall that there are several similarly dressed Rodians there, and of course in the Jabba/Docking Bay 94 scene. I don't know how Han recognized one particular one as Greedo. Sounds like a question for Pablo Hidalgo or Lelend Chee via an e-mail to the Star Wars Insider.

Also, Chris, I'm out of the System at the moment, but I'll check on that book...

I am watching A New Hope and noticed something. I don't know if they has been said in the past or not. I noticed in the cantina scene that Greedo was in that scene a lot. I mean I don't know if there were other Rodians in the cantina but I saw Greedo about 4 times in that scene and that is including when he meets up with Han. My question is if he is in the cantina and Han knows him why doesn't Han and Chewie run or get out of there?

Agreed!! Wish I could get my cute girl to realize that.

Anyhow, I watched the Special Edition a couple of nights ago and really enjoyed it. One small thing I noticed was how different the Sandtrooper pauldrons are on the Special Edition as compared the the originals.

I also just read the Star Wars Collectors Album, which is a reprint of a great British magazine. Both were published in 1978.

One funny thing is that they show a now-famous picture of Alec Guiness and a red-jacketed David Prowse sparring. Most of you have seen it many times. The caption reads,...

I had just watched "Revisited" with David about a month ago, so I decided to watch the 2004 Special Edition last night with Courtney for the movie of the month. I had more fun answering questions that she had than anything else. Nothing more beautiful than a cute girl getting into Star Wars!

Forgotten quote.

At Celebration III McCallum showed the audience some footage from Episode III. It began with Anakin in the cockpit saying, "This is where the fun begins." The line is now pretty familiar to all of us, but it didn't ring any bells with me other than that it might be a bad sign if a Jedi anticipates battle with glee.

As I watched Episode IV tonight I was reminded that Han sardonically says almost the same line after blasting out of Mos Eisley, "Here's where the fun begins." Most of the little repeated motifs I'm very familiar with, but this one I'd completely missed. -Campbell
