That's definitely what the article is saying. Without paying a premium all you get is the normal access to the park. The "Celebration" $369 package sounds acceptable considering you get accomodations and passes to the park (I'm betting it's based on double occumpancy) but from what this says you can only get autographs is you buy the "Premier" $699 package. Too rich for my blood and my Potter fandom. Hope I meet someone who actually goes as I'd love to hear about it.

Interesting stuff. Star Wars Weekends might've rubbed off a bit on Universal. I can see this becoming a regular event.

This is Universal's equivalent of the Star Wars Weekends. It is Celebration of the Harry Potter films. It begins on November 11-13. You can see the article here or read it here.

I keep hoping I can get my wife to start reading the books so I can relive them through her. Yesterday I was at a zoo and specifically in a section of the reptile house devoted to snakes. It totally reminded me of Harry's introduction to parseltongue.

I am still looking to walk through the queue area to experience the inside of the castle, but since I am an AP holder, I'm in no rush. A sample seat/harness is outside with a worker testing folks to see if they fit (so they don't have to waste time in line if they can't fit) and not surprisingly, many people aren't "the right size" - this includes men and women equally. I was wondering about the tie-in with HHN as well. Since it was on Halloween, maybe they'll have a Potter haunted house where you see baby Harry witness the murders of his parents.

Thankfully Campbell finally found reason to start reading these books...... I didn't start reading them until the third book and had to wait between the release of each following which could difficult at times. Going back and rereading each book prior to each movie release has been enjoyable (quick reads now) and as C says nice to immediately jump into the next.

I wonder if they'll ever have a meet & greet with Voldemort in HP's Wizarding World or if he might just appear in an occasional show or parade. And I hope they have a special Halloween Horror Nights @ Hogwarts geared specifically towards older kids and adults in the wizarding world but it'll probably be totally kid fun.

Excellent! They'll be around, that's for sure. Like you've found with Star Wars series books, it's kind of nice to be able to jump from one book right into the next. When these were originally coming out people had to wait for months and years for the next "chapter." I found it immensely satisfying to take in the whole Harry Potter series consecutively.

Interestingly, they get so dark in parts of the last several books that I like to imagine how freaky Universal's Wizarding World of Harry Potter would be if it were designed with the later time period in mind.

I have always wanted to read this series but since getting into the Star Wars books it's been hard for me to do so. Still trying to finish the Dark Nest Trilogy much less Legacy and beyond. One day I'll get to them tho.

I finished the 7th Harry Potter book last week and still feel that it was some of the best literature that I've read. It's amazing how well the story is woven and how much is revealed from all the other books as you read later ones. Really entertaining and far, far better than the movies, which seem like Reader's Digest versions at best.

The Sentinal has some great shots of the development of Universal Studios' Wizarding World of Harry Potter. In the last three or four months I have become increasingly interested in this. Also, it's hard to miss Hogwarts when heading West on Oak Ridge Rd.

Just finished the Order of the Phoenix book. Absolutely fantastic. Frustrating, revealing, and satisfying. By chance, I happened to read Russ's movie review just now from 2007 (at the top of this page). Very interesting. I've seen the first half of the movie and will watch the second half tomorrow.
Regarding the book: I was rapt by the showdown in the Ministry of Magic, my blood pressure went up from Umbridge's character, I loved getting so much more background on James Potter, Sirius and Remus, and Snape. The Order and the D.A. were also fascinating. Great, great book. Can't wait to get a copy of The Half-Blood Prince.

Jess and I are planning to go see the new Potter flick on tomorrow. Probably a before 6pm showing at Winter Park Village or Fashion Square. Depending on who all would be interested we may be able to change to later. Give one of us a call.

By the Way No I'm not costuming but I wouldn't attending with a Gryffindor member.
