My song of the day is My Sweet Lord by George Harrison. He rightfully lost a plaigerism suit from the Chiffons over this song because it really sounds similar to their song, He's So Fine.

Well since The Queen of Rock Stevie is coming out with a new album in May and I got to hear the "fresh" recording of the lead single "Secret Love" it's stuck in my head.

I say fresh because this is a song that she wrote and recorded a demo of back in the 70's which leaked out and I've been listening to that crappy multi-generation tape copy for years.

If Stevie would just get busy recording for the sake of recording she could be releasing albums until she's a few hundred years old.

What Part of Forever by Cee Lo Green. I heard it on my wife's soundtrack from Twilight: Eclipse then again while trapped in an H&M store while she shopped. The song kept me sane.

I laugh sometimes at what music and movies you mention but I fully understand with your girls. My godkids are 13 (girl) and 7 (boy). I have been exposed to and learned to like things any "non-parent" would never be exposed to and ashamed to admit they may like.

And Sorry to hear Jedi..... It's sucks. 2nd time an external hard drive crashed and I've lost my collection of over 6,000 songs. This time I lost some extremely hard to come by rare tracks and remixes I hadn't yet backed up.

My hard drive on my PC crashed, which had everything from classical scores to Metallica to Alanis Morrisette - and everything in between so I am rebuilding as well.

I've got M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes" constantly rolling in my head right now. I first became aware of the song with the Pineapple Express trailer. Recently, I just saw it used to great effect in Slumdog Millionaire. At my job I'm currently in a tippable position so the chorus of "all I wanna do is... take your money" is particularly apropos.

I'm not an Abba fan, and I didn't particularly enjoy the movie, but those songs certainly are infectious. I had them pillaging my mind for awhile after the movie as well.
