Nice reminders of a great day. Nice seeing quite a few Mustangs (my favorite at the moment) trotting by the camera.

I like the Shuttle Launch Experience a lot. I should try to get over there while all the commemorative items are celebrating the Shuttle program. I need to find time for this one of these days. Pin and I had annual passes a few years ago.

Here is one of my videos, did not have any luck uploading to facebook. Have several more to upload. Did not take as many pics as I wanted, it was an overload of amazing cars. . Thanks to Hot Rod magazine, this event only cost $25. We got to cruise and see the park. We got to go in early, the place was empty. It was cool to see the parking lot fill with vintage muscle of every kind, and to talk to so many people that participate with the Power Tour.

Did the tourist thing, rode the SHuttle Launch Experience, and purchased some NASA swag. Would have stayed longer to enjoy more, but am under the weather because of some pending dental work. Totally missed the...

Friday saw the last spacewalk for the Space Shuttle Program. Here's a nice 4-minute view of the launch from the solid fuel rocket boosters POV.

Honestly, the annual passes there are relatively inexpensive (think it's $56 for the full annual pass). I know for most of us that are under a budget it's not super cheap, but it's not a ho ho horrendous price point.

Glad the Shuttle came home safe today, but I still cry a little bit as each mission concludes, knowing that we've decimated our Manned Space program for a decade with our shortsightedness.

Tonight's the SuperMoon! It's the Supermoon! This is the closest the moon has been to Earth since March 1993. Here's a nice shot of it behind the Lincoln Memorial.

The Space Shuttle Discovery launches for the last time in less than 10 minutes. After the mission this orbiter will be taken to DC to the Smithsonian. The other two surviving shuttles each have a mission and that's all she wrote for the Shuttle Program. After that we count on the Russians to get us to and from the International Space Station. When has their Space Program ever let us down?

A couple of days ago, the space station was supposed to pass over us at 8:30 pm . My Dad watches it everytime it does that and I have not seen it once. I get so into my work that I forget to go outside and look up. I heard you can actually see more than just a flashing light in the sky. I'm going to get a cheap telescope some day. Has anyone watched the space station pass by?

Around the time of the last shuttle launch we had a lively discussion about the entire US Space Program. Who's interested in this sort of thing among our new number?

Is anyone following the mission to Pluto that got scrubbed today? Weather odds aren't favorable for tomorrow, but they've got till mid-February so there's still time. Though it's been done before, this is controversial to some due to the power source of the craft: plutonium. And on the incredibly small chance of a total failure in the atmosphere, Central Florida is in the fallout zone. -Campbell
