Today is the day! Leaving in twenty-eight minutes for Orlando and then it's on to Port Saint Lucie!

What a fantastic event! A huge thanks goes out to Rich and his wife for hosting everyone in their home. The food was amazing and collection that Rich has on display is extremely impressive. That has to be one of the most organized collections of Hasbro merchandise that I've seen.

I thoroughly enjoyed the trivia this time around. I have to send out a special thanks to the San Diego Star Wars Society for donating some incredible pieces from the Sarlacc Pit and Sail Barge. The discussions that took place in the midst of the trivia were just incredible. I love seeing fans learn more about these movies that they didn't previously know. That's what this is all about...further learning and what better way to learn than with your fellow Star Wars fans? It is such a treat to be able to host these.

Lastly, the conversations on the way up and on the way back from Port Saint Lucie were just great. I think we all get to know each other a little better and I can't think of a better way to spend six hours with friends.

Chris, I presume you got the monster Studio Scale X-Wing back home safe and sound? That was quite a thing to see. That's a piece I don't anticipate owning, so it was very interesting to study the thing. Most impressive.

The rides from Orlando and back again were some interesting trips. The rest of the group wouldn't believe the political/religious roundtable we held on the way home but it just goes to show you the wide appeal of Star Wars. Fortunately, the Force binds all of us, as well as the galaxy, together.

The conversations throughout the day made me wish we could do this more often. I know the difficulty of meshing everyone's schedules, so I believe the answer is not to have them more frequently, but to get more commitment from those that would like to attend. I'd like to see us also consider lots of smaller activities with these larger events being the focus that people really go out of their way to attend.

Justin, I wish we all lived closer as well. It would make it so much easier to get together on a more regular basis.

Campbell, yes, the X-wing made it back home safe and sound. I wasn't able to get it back in the house until later this evening due to the non-stop rain though. It literally just stopped raining a few hours ago.

I was actually thinking that it seems like these larger events that we hold are more suitable as perhaps a quarterly thing. That would give the individual clubs a chance to hold a monthly meeting and also give everyone at least two months to plan on attending the larger event. It doesn't even have to be quarterly, maybe even every four months just as long as we can get enough members to commit to attending making it worth the effort. That would be more along the lines of something I could get sponsorship for.

Rich or anyone that remembers...do we know the names of the gentleman in the black shirt on the back row third in line and the gentleman in the orange shirt as well as the gentleman right next to him? I know when I hear the names, I'm going to be disappointed with myself for not remembering them. We definitely need to get them on the email list and let them know about the website and the Facebook page.
