I finally made time to watch February's Episode of the Month this past week and as always, had some thoughts that made me take a few notes.

Generally, I think this has the least varied of sound effects of any other movie in the Saga. Some of the ships and each of the Geonosian Arena monsters sound too much alike. I don't have the SFX vocabulary to describe it, but despite different RPMs, most sound like versions of spinning motors. I wonder if this might be due to Ben Burtt's editing schedule encroaching on the time he was able to spend on the sound design.

Favorite sounds: the Homing Beacon as it "tings" to the hull of Slave I, and the seismic charges the ship releases in the asteroid field. I really like the idea of the seismic charges. I'm glad they were not overdone, but these leave a lasting impression.

I think they probably do. It's a great question, but if you imagined any other fighting force you could count on the fact that they would have more weapons than those they carry on their persons. Anakin explains that they can't have possessions so it actually makes a lot of sense that they would have a good backstock of sabers. Constructing these would make an excellent exercise, lightsabers would be left over from fallen Jedi, and we know that Jedi change lightsabers periodically- thus there's more than one source from which this stockpile could spring.
