Jawa Scavenger Tue, 18 Aug, 2009 11:33 PM	Hey everyone. Hope to be on these boards more often. I too believe we'll all be able to bask in the glory of Orlando hosting CV next summer. I echo all of the sentiments posted previously as to why it should be in Florida. I wish I had some concrete evidence, or rumors to further support this, but I don't. All I can say is I have a very big "gut" feeling it will be in Orlando. I know that nobody knows me from Adam, but I can tell you that more times than not, my gut instinct is usually correct. Hopefully this isn't the instance where it let's me down...lol! May the Force be with us all!! Mick Celli

It looks like it is confirmed next summer for CV and Sansweet said from Chicago to the Atlantic for a location so we all can hope for Orlando. I know the force will be with us. Always.

Imperial Officer Wed, 9 Sep, 2009 4:37 PM Stormtrooper	I saw that Sansweet said east of Chicago for the 2010 event. That gives us hope ! I bet its between Chicago and Orlando.... just my guess. He also said they may not nail down a location as close as 6 months before the event!

Sat, 19 Sep, 2009 10:24 PM Consul - Orlando System Baron Admin	I can't pass on too much information, but I can say that I've seen some information about Orlando's bid for Celebration V. Not only are we in the running for this, but I can confirm that the city is actually bidding on a future Celebration beyond "fiVe." There's a 2% chance that some news will be released Monday. It says the cities will be narrowed down to 2 by October 10th. A final decision made by November 1 !! It mentions Orlando as one city but does not mention any other city. I'd say that qualifies as front runner for Celebration V !!

Sun, 25 Oct, 2009 10:53 PM President - Treasure Coast Star Wars Club Treasure Coast Moderator	Well it's out there that there is no contract yet for Celebration V but Steve Sansweet said it should be finalized within 6 to 8 weeks. We can only hope it will be sooner than later and I hope Orlando is still in the running. I was reading some Blogs and people keep bringing up how hot it is in August and the threat of Hurricanes it get old hearing the same old stuff. The heat won't be a problem because your inside for the convention and the chance of a hurricane, well there is always a chance at any location of some kind of bad weather.I just think we have the best location for this type of event. Celebration lV in L.A. was a nice venue but there wasn't much for food there and if you left the convention center it was tough to find a place to eat close to the convention. Orlando doesn't have that problem and the airport is close too.Well time will tell and I still have a good feeling it's going to happen for us.

Anybody remember in the 90s when all those elderly people were dying up there on 100 degree days? LA seems to be out of the running, but you make a good point about the lack of food outlets around the Staples Center. Fingers crossed! A buddy of mine reports that his hotel's "VP of Sales is convinced that it is coming..." This proves absolutely nothing, but it gets me excited. Jawa Scavenger Fri, 27 Nov, 2009 8:07 PM	My only concern is that if the dates of August 12-15 are indeed when it would be held, these happen to be the exact dates for Wizard World 2010 in Chicago. So something has to give. Either the dates change and it stays in Orlando, or the dates stay the same and the venue changes. However, I highly doubt that they will conduct CV during the same dates as Wizard World, so my money is on the dates changing which could be one reason why we've got this 6-8 week delay in the announcement that Steve mentioned. They could be working out the particulars about the exact dates in August. Anyone else have information which might expound upon this topic?
