I wouldn't be surprised if it goes down a bit lower, as well. I will pre-order it from Amazon, too. Their price guarantee makes sure we get it at the
lowest price it ends up selling for at release.

Another book that I'm looking forward to is the recently announced Star Wars: Year By
Year A Visual Chronicle. This is right up my alley.

Unfortunately, the upcoming The Making of: The Empire Strikes Back has been pushed back about 4 months from the original release date. I've got
mine on pre-order through Amazon.com, so whenever it does finally ship, I'll have one.

I finished up Death Troopers this past Saturday. Wow, what a great book and a fun read! I'm so looking forward to more stories like this one in
the Star Wars universe.
For anyone interested, Jimmy Mac from the ForceCast did a great Microcast with the author of this book, Joe Schreiber, which can be found here. Jimmy Mac and "Jovial" Jay Shepard also discuss the book and give their spoiler-free review. Administrator - RebelScum.com

In times like these, being unemployed and all, I am actually happy to see this get pushed back. Gives me more time to come up with the money for it :P

I read the first book and enjoyed it, but got sidetracked from the sequel soon after I started it. As much as I liked the first one, I felt I needed a little
more connection to the era around the movies. I think I may have started the second Bane book when I got The Force Unleashed and could not wait to read the
latter (which I thorougly enjoyed).

I read the first Darth Bane book very quickly and really enjoyed it. I bought the second one and decided to hold off for a bit since I was reading another book
at the time. Somehow, I have still not gone back to read that one.
Perhaps I was still thinking more OT than PT. Of course, this particular series takes place before either of those era's. Administrator - RebelScum.com

I found the released and then quickly cancelled The Complete Vader book by Ryder Windham and Pete Vilmur at ForbiddenPlanet.com on sale for 14.99 GBP
which is about $22.00. Anyone interested in getting a copy with me to split the shipping charge?

I'm interested, but am wondering what the shipping charge will be. Looks like you have to e-mail them to get an overseas shipping quote. I think that's
a really good price, and I don't know of any binding problems with UK copies. Looking at Amazon.co.uk the shipped price would be $41.48, but even $30
shipped seems pretty high for this book. I'm thinking I can wait another year and a half, believe it or not. I'd hate to get this one and have the
eventual US edition have a lot of updated material. And with a publishing date of October 2011 (is it?) there's time to tweek and revise.

sabacc wrote:Yeah, I've got an email into them now. My reason for wanting this book is two-fold. First of all, I'm a big Star Wars book collector, so having an edition that was cancelled is a must and secondly, this book is amazing from what I've been told and I really don't want to wait another two years to see it. Great deals can be found right now for this edition 1.0. Now, if shipping ends up costing me another $20 or something, this isn't a great deal, but I wanted to offer up a split shipment to offset that if you might be interested in purchasing a copy for yourself. It's hit or miss getting a good copy, but I've been reading quite a few reports out of the UK that the copies over there are turning out okay. Shoot, even if it was just a little bit messed up, it's about having that particular version for me. You can bet that I'll have version 2.0 when it comes out in 2011 though! Well, let me know what they say on postage. Though I've had books with pad glue/binding and not to get overdramatic, but it breaks my heart to even open
them. If I can't comfortably browse and read a book that I buy I don't want to have it.
I had a bad copy of The Making of The Force Unleashed last year, fortunately Amazon sent me a fresh copy, that was totally messed up. That particular title is also frustrating because it has several pockets that feature character trading cards. It's a paperback book so it never lays flat. Even my well bound copy is a disappointment, despite some really nice content. -Campbell

Nice! I've got a couple of paperback reprints of that on my shelves. I kind of regret giving away a paperback of it that I bought at Celebration II. It was only a few dollars and had Ralph McQuarrie's autograph on it (from the Dreams and Visions guys before that name existed).
