I don't think you need to be in any hurry to buy tickets whatsoever. At every other Celebration they have been available till the convention. On the other
hand, once you know and once you can afford it, there's nothing better than not having the ticket expense close to the time of Celebration.
You've got to save your duckets for the show!

Does anyone here know if you actually have to pay for the tickets online with a credit card only, or if the card number's only used to make sure the order
is legit?

WookieJedi13 wrote: Welcome WJ! I'm not sure I understand the question, but I can tell you if you are placing an order and they request your credit card they will be charging it. (In the case of pre-orders merchants only ask for your credit card if they will be charging it when the order is fulfilled.) Assuming you are talking about Celebration V tickets, they accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Paypal. Whichever of these methods you choose, they will charge you at the time you place your order. -Campbell

C5 Price hike | #106 | ||
|
According to Justin of theforce.net. C5 has hiked their prices. Here is the information.
Initially, admission tickets were priced as follows on December 10th: Adult Four-Day Passes: $120 Thursday Passes: $45 Friday Passes: $45 Saturday Passes: $50 Sunday Passes: $45 Kids Four-Day Passes: $50 and One-Day Passes: $25 As of the date of this posting, ticket prices are now listed as follows: Adult Four-Day Passes: $128 Thursday Passes: $48 Friday Passes: $48 Saturday Passes: $54 Sunday Passes: $48 Kids Four-Day Passes: $54 and One-Day Passes: $27 So if you are still on the fence about buying tickets to CV, you may want to act sooner rather than later to avoid any other potential ticket price hikes. I wonder what that is going to do for the people that have bought their passes already. |

Here is more info on the exhibitors for Celebration V it's looking to be the biggest one so far August can't get hear sooner.
Lucasfilm Ltd. and Reed Exhibitions are pleased to announce that planning for Star Wars Celebration V is well underway. With more than half of the show floor already sold, exhibit space is filling up quickly with all-stars from across the pop culture galaxy. Organizers cite a diverse exhibitor base of over 100 leading vendors ranging from established industry heavyweights to a wide array of smaller, independent companies -- from makers and sellers of toys, costumes, and high end collectibles to greeting cards, art prints, trading cards, books and graphic novels, games, and much, much more. Participating exhibitors include: Hasbro, LEGO USA, ACME Archives, DK Publishing, eFX Collectibles, Hallmark, Mimoco, Comic Images, Museum Replicas, Random House, Rubies Costumes, Gentle Giant, Super7Store, Topps, and many more. Star Wars Celebration V will take place August 12-15, 2010 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. To reserve exhibit space before it is sold out, companies are encouraged to visit the event website for more information and to view a complete list of current exhibitors. "Even at this early stage, this Celebration is shaping up to be really big -- maybe bigger than any of our previous events," said Steve Sansweet, Lucasfilm's Head of Fan Relations. "We are still months away from Celebration V and we are already seeing an enormous amount of interest and enthusiasm from vendors and exhibitors, which is pretty unprecedented so far out. With such a varied slate of amazing vendors from all parts of the pop culture world, fans, families, and attendees are going to be in for a real treat." Star Wars Celebration is the official Lucasfilm convention celebrating all things Star Wars. The Celebrations are the biggest Star Wars events held, allowing friends and families to gather to have fun and celebrate their love of the Saga. From fans who first experienced A New Hope in theaters to kids just discovering Star Wars through Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Celebration touches on anything and everything connected with that galaxy far, far away. The producers promise more interactive events than ever at Celebration V. Celebrity guests will sign in the Star Wars Celebration Autograph area as well as make presentations. The annual Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge prizes will be awarded and there will be a chance for budding filmmakers to get tips from more experienced ones. Star Wars Celebration V will feature scores of crowd-pleasing events that can be found only at an official Star Wars convention. To receive up-to-the-minute information on guest announcements and special events taking place this year, fans are encouraged to sign up for the official Star Wars Celebration newsletter at www.starwarscelebration.com/newsletter. |

At MegaCon Rich and I think we heard Steve Sansweet say that VIP ticket packages (one type limited to 50!) will go on sale on March 23rd. Someone named Alvaro sent a report into TheForce.net saying that it is on the 22nd. Either way, if you're interested, keep your eyes open for these very limited ticket sales.

Stars Will Shine Brightly at Celebration V
Autograph fans attending Celebration V in Orlando August 12-15 can look forward to meeting their favorite cast and crew stars from the Star Wars movies, particularly from The Empire Strikes Back, when Official Pix returns to Celebration with a great list of guests. "We are once again honored to be chosen to produce the autograph program for Lucasfilm, and for Reed Exhibitions at Celebration V," says Ben Stevens, co-owner of Official Pix. Stevens and Philip Wise, partners in the company, plan to bring guests whose combined careers span all six episodes of the saga, with special attention to guests from The Empire Strikes Back to honor the 30th anniversary of the beloved movie, and from the popular television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Official Pix will use an efficient fast path system to minimize time spent waiting in line, allowing more time for fans to enjoy the abundance of Star Wars programming at Celebration V. The company is the licensed supplier of authentic Star Wars autographs, and have brought memorable guests to Celebrations II, III, IV, and Japan. Collectors can rest assured that they will get their autographs on high-quality prints of unique images of the stars. The company plans to use a coupon system at the show, with details soon to be announced. In general, fans will purchase and use an appropriate number of coupons for each autograph. The coupons will be good for autographs on Official Pix Celebration V images, or can be used for autographs on items brought from home. Fans should note that licensed Star Wars products are typically acceptable, but signing non-licensed items, like homemade images or toys, is up to the discretion of each autograph guest. Collectors who do not wish to wait may purchase previously-signed photos from many of the stars who will be signing in the Official Pix area in the exhibit hall. Autograph guests who will appear at Celebration V will be announced soon, and new guests will be added and announced as the show draws near. Look for updates at www.starwarscelebration.com and www.officialpix.com. Star Wars Celebration V Autograph Celebrities |

I haven't purchased tickets yet, but I do have hotel reservations. Since this will be a multi-purpose visit, I will not be attending the con every day (I've got friends and family to see too!), but I plan on doing something like a Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday. I hope to see some of my old Orlando System peeps come August.

Well for those of you that will be lucky enough to buy the VIP tickets I guess they will be on sale within the next nine days. They got everybody's hopes up for the 23rd which is tomorrow but we will see they will go quick too. I wish they would at least tell us what comes with the VIP package so you know what you are getting ahead of time and not the last minute but that is the way it works. But if any details come out I will post them. |

This is very odd. So the word I'm hearing is that they will be on sale "before the end of March." Very strange. I'm glad my hopes are not terribly high.

Wow not much for the price, you get in ahead of the regular crowd but I would rather spend the money on collectibles or in line with Star Wars Fans. And you only get 5% off of one item in the Celebration store? I think the meeting with Dave Filoni and the voice actors of the Cone Wars is very cool but $750 is hard swallow for the package. But it is good to see they put it up before they go on sale. We are getting closer to the event only a 142 days till Celebration V.
