Well I went to see Avatar on Tuesday I thought the move was very good (That's my opinion) It started out good but got a little dragged out and I was hoping for some excitement and it came through at the end. My son really liked the move and thought it was very cool. The effects were awesome ( with help from ILM ) but that is the problem with movies today they are all computer generated and not real all the sets are just blue screens and nothing is constructed anymore which I can understand with the advancement of technology and cost. But the days when you would see a vehicle or space ship a hole set or even a little green friend that was hand made are gone and that takes something out of the moves. Avatar was very good but predictable and all about greed but it takes you on a great adventure, but is no way better than SW sorry but that's my opinion on it and that is not because I am a hardcore Star Wars Fan but it is just the way they make moves today nothing is simple anymore. As you can see SW even 30 years later is still going strong and part of are culture and is still the biggest franchise ever. The move even has a little bit of SW in it when they say they are one with the forest. But I don't want to rune it for anyone but go see the move you will really like it and in 3-D made it very cool too. So I hope I didn't offend anyone. But it is a must see.

I just want to let everyone know that I do like other movies that are out there new or old and Star Wars just happens to be my favorite. I didn't want it come across that the greatest move out there ( In my eyes ) is Star Wars that is just how I feel. Some people might see Avatar and love it or hate it but people focus so much on box office numbers and who has the most special effects. If you really want to talk numbers and put out there what move had the biggest box office draw the number one move for that is Gone With The Wind it blows away all the movies out there today in that category but you have to take into consideration number of theaters cost of the ticket, inflation and if you put all that in Gone With The wind comes out at the top. But don't get me wrong Avatar was a very good move and people will love it. Star Wars effected me in a different way than any other move so far I just like the way moves used to be made I guess I'm just old school. I am glad that all of us can discuss things like this an voice are opinion and not hurt anyones feelings I hope I didn't do that. As a Star Wars fan sometimes we as fans don't like it when movies top Star Wars I guess we just try to protect it in a strange way we want the franchise to be on top all of the time and keep Star Wars in everyones minds. But there are other franchises that are very successful and put out a very good product and there movies are very very good and if you go to a movie and it makes you feel good then they did there job and that is why there are so many different movies out there everyone has different tastes. So if it is Star Trek, Star Wars, Avatar or Spiderman there is something out there for everyone and that is cool.
