I've personally been extremely busy the last few months and I haven't had time to sit down and plan anything local. I'm very much open to some ideas if anyone has any. We are long past the days of meeting in the food court at the Citrus Park Mall. I know this is short notice, but is anyone free Saturday evening after 6:00pm? Just throwing it out there, but I'd be happy to host a little get together at my house from 6:30pm on. Posts: 3023 Sun, Mar 7, 2010 12:31 PM Administrator Tampa SW Club President Tampa	Great turnout last night! All seven names listed above were present. The evening started out with some pizza (thank you David), fried chicken (thank you Will) and some salad (thank you Amanda). For desert, Amanda also brought some cream puffs and I supplied the ice cream and drinks. After we ate, I set up a small TV at the kitchen table and we played a game of Star Wars Trivial Pursuit DVD edition. The teams were paired up as follows: Will & Lindsay, Alex & Amanda, Tony & Chris and then David was his own team. The game went on for a few hours and fun was had by all. In the end, it was Tony and myself who ended up taking first place. A quick trip into the museum and we called it a night. Not before Tony had a photo shoot with my Master Replicas Boba Fett helmet to go with his Mark Ecko Boba Fett hoodie. Look for that photo to surface soon! I'd be happy to make this a monthly occurrence if everyone else is up for it. This is just the type of thing that we encourage while waiting on one of our larger meet ups. It's just a great way to stay connected and enjoy good company while all the while, celebrating Star Wars. Thanks to Chris for letting us into his home once again and a special thanks for letting me put on Fett's helmet. clicky for pic. I was great playing the Star Wars Trivial Pursuit. I didn't realize how much Star Wars knowledge I had locked up in my noggin' just waiting to come out. I am most interested in doing this again next month if at all possible and look forward to it. I have decided...Boba Rex is here to stay - the name as well as the person :)

Now don't get me wrong I love the places we have gone recently and Emerald City Comics is no exception, but I can't remember the last Tampa meeting we had with everyone involved. The last meeting that could even be close to it was out in St. Pete. I would just like to have one were I'm not driving an hour plus (or close to it) to get to it. Is it the end of the Tampa Star Wars Club in lieu of the bigger SWGFA? I have decided...Boba Rex is here to stay - the name as well as the person :)

The larger events make it a lot easier to spread the word and get more people involved for things like the smaller meet ups. It's been my intention to have more smaller things for the Tampa side this year, but my schedule has simply permitted this from happening like I wanted. With our big October event being the last of 2010, this leaves the rest of the year for another smaller sized get together or two before 2011. The Tampa Star Wars Club isn't going anywhere. Just like the Orlando System and the Treasure Coast Star Wars Club, it helps make up the Alliance.
