A while back a friend told me about shopgoodwill.com It is an auction style website that sells items donated to good will from around the country. Some are used or opened but I have noticed by checking every couple days that you can get lots or even single items brand new for a lot less than ebay.

I've found some pretty good things on there, but never actually pulled the trigger.

I have that AT-AT, it's from the Miniatures line and is very good looking. The struts on the inner sides of the feet are the only real compromise made on this sculpt to make it stronger. It holds up fairly well against the prop repros considering it's usually about $1100 cheaper.
And the Six Million Dollar Man Repair Station- I don't have it, but I did back in the 70s. Loved those toys. Note that it's also an ultra lame rocket "Transport." -Campbell Help the SWGFA by buying through Amazon. |

Well I joined and placed my bid on the at-at. Nobody better try to outbid me! I hope I can get it for $10 because it will cost $13.34 for shipping and handling and for all I know there could be something broken on there. I only want to look at for a few months for comparison , then I will probably get rid of it.

The only problem I see is there is a minimum of 1 lb for shipping on any item. I was looking at was a lego figure for $2.00 and shipping was $11.42 with a 3.00 handling charge on every item. So you will pay $8.41 even on the smallest thing with an addition of $3.00. That hurts. Make sure you check shipping it is all over the place.

whendroidsfly wrote:If you don't win it I'll loan you mine. And Rich (sledmaster), I knew there was something that turned me off about buying on Goodwill's website. I recall the selection being interesting and even lost out to some rare items, but the minimum shipping was a bear. Because of this Goodwill talk, I ended up stopping in a Goodwill Store on OBT in Orlando. I didn't buy anything, though I did see an old Ertl Encounter with Yoda Model Kit and a Jar Jar water squirter fast food premium. -Campbell Help the SWGFA by buying through Amazon. |

That at-at is getting bids so I won't bother bidding anymore. I just didn't want it get away at a super low price. I did find an ESB lunch box that has a dent and the usual wear. I'm not sure if it's worth bidding on but it was interesting that no where in the title or description can you find the words Star Wars. So I noticed this auction when I searched "1980's".
This auction site is cool enough that I wouldn't mind checking it a few times a month. |
