Wasn't sure where else to put this but I made a great discovery today. I have a Samsung Vibrant android phone and was browsing through the "live wallpaper" in the android market. I came across one called "Earth Live Wallpaper" that looked pretty cool. Its a rotating planet Earth with the moon in orbit. Little did I know that when you go into the settings you can change the planet to any in our solar system - and quite a few more! They have a whole slew of star wars planets such as Endor, Tatooine, Naboo, Hoth, Geonosis, Death Star 1&2, Coruscant, and a bunch more. If you have an android phone that does live wallpaper check it out. Its free! Here's a pic I found on google images.

Another reason I wish I had a Droid.
Good idea for a thread. I've got a co-worker that's loaded a bunch of iPhone Star Wars apps because I always talk about Star Wars. When we have free time he tries to stump me with a trivia one. -Campbell Help the SWGFA by buying through Amazon. |

sabacc wrote: And has he ever succeeded? Probably not! Though, now I have to go and look up this trivia app. The worst app, sadly, is that lightsaber one. I had to buy it because, well, you know. However, it was even a waste of 99 cents. I keep hoping that the ForceCast app gets better because as of now, it's still better to listen to it on the actual iPod. Still, that was worth the price if only to support them and the cause. Every day I hope to see an update for it, though.

Pikaroth wrote:He succeeds when I'm tired or not paying enough attention. It's a multiple choice quiz (though most of the time I don't get the choices). It's also updated weekly, so he gets new sets of questions regularly. Don't know what it's called other than "Star Wars Trivia." He also gets a big kick out of the Soundboards. -Campbell Help the SWGFA by buying through Amazon. |

Just looked, and there seem to be two apps, one free and the other not. If you remember, have the time, and don't mind, would you ask him if he actually purchased the one? It's not expensive, but wasting money is not my thing if I can avoid it.

There's a couple of good SW apps/games on the iPhone:
"Trench Run" is a good space fighting game. SW: Battle for Hoth is a good tower defense game. I actually like the Force Cast app as well. It has some "extras" at times, and the best part is that the mp3 podcast files don't take up any disc space, since the show is streamed through the app.

I'm waiting on my contract with AT&T to run out next year so I can ditch my iPhone as well. I love the phone more than death, but I can't deal with the dropped calls or the AT&T service any longer.
Back to Verizon next year and most likely a Droid, unless Apple finally cuts exclusivity ties with AT&T and offers an iPhone with other carriers.

I had a jailbroken iphone 3G I was using on T-Mobile. I loved the phone but when I upgraded to iOS4 it got really slow. Since I was eligible for an upgrade I picked up the new Samsung Vibrant from the Galaxy S line and I love it! In fact, most people that see it think its an iPhone 3G at first.

sabacc wrote: Awesome, I appreciate it. I need to bone up on my SW knowledge once again. Who can forget the epic day at one Star Wars Weekends where, during their trivia trials, I got all the way up to the inside stage, knocked all comers out, and ended in.... third place. Beaten, defeated, by a girl probably no older than 14. I still wake up sometimes, screaming. I need to be saved... from my dreams.

It's only getting worse unless you read 5 comics, a new EU book, and a few Clone Wars episodes every month. We're the first of at least three Star Wars generations.

Vader's GPS voice is mildly tolerable, while I would probably purposely drive myself into a wall if I had to listen to Yoda giving me directions.
I'll stick to the default thankyouverymuch.

They have Han Solo & C-3PO voices too. I think Han sounds terrible though. Have you seen the "behind the scenes" of Vader recording his lines?

I like thecommercials for Tom Tom, but I have to admit, I don't think I could tolerate a character voice for very long. Especially in town or when I needed to hear a lot of directions close together. -Campbell Help the SWGFA by buying through Amazon. |

I have the Darth Vader voice on my Tom Tom and forgot to show it to you guys at CV. It is very cool but it does get irritating after a wile I think I am going to get Han Solo. There are some free downloads on the site, instead of a car on your map you can have an X-Wing or a Death Star they have a bunch more that are very cool. Just go to the Tom Tom site under Star Wars.

While not strictly on topic, this is an accessory for the iPhone 4 found on Etsy.com. If I had an iPhone there's no doubt in my mind that I'd buy this.
