For about a month I've been kicking around the idea of having a 2010 Holiday greeting card from the SWGFA. This year has been an amazing one for Florida fans and I'd like for us to send out a sort of thank you to some of our partners at Lucasfilm, in the comic shops that have hosted us, the artists that have created for us, and our supporters and volunteers. I threw out the idea to Mark and Kay, the Tallestjawa, and they came up with a pretty interesting idea. A decorated tree seemed very reminiscent to the silhouette of a Star Destroyer to me so Mark went back and adapted this design.
We wanted to stay in black and white partly to cut down on cost, but I still want to print on a high quality stock by a professional printer. I'm intending to keep the numbers low, but it's up for discussion about whether these should be available for purchase by our members (essentially at cost). I'd like at least some of them to be tastefully hand-colored or highlighted.
At the moment the thought is to make these postcards. Mark has a nice backside (yes, I typed it) designed, but I'll hold off on that so we can focus on the main image.
