I don't recall Lucasfilm ever announcing a Celebration two years away so I'm thinking this is all going to go hand-in-hand with the 3-D release of The Phantom Menace. It's funny, I was all for CV happening in 2010 instead of 2009 because I wanted to celebrate Empire's 30th more than I wanted to celebrate TPM's 10th anniversary. If my reading of the situation is right we'll be celebrating TPM's rerelease instead of Return of the Jedi's 30th Anniversary. I would assume they will do Celebration 3D (or something) next year, maybe in March, for TPM's 3D release. That does not preclude them to a ROTJ 30th Anniversary event in 2013. If we lucked into it being in Orlando again that would certainly help with the heat. On the other hand, if it was to coincide with the release of TPM I'd think it'd need to be much earlier in the year. If I'm reading that correctly I think you've got that mistaken. There's not been a US Celebration in back to back years. CI- 1999 CII- 2002 CIII- 2005 CIV- 2007 CV- 2010 You might be thinking of 2007-8 when in just nine months they mounted CIV along with Celebrations in Europe and Japan. Either way, what you suggest would be an interesting way to work it. It was released in 1983, so it really won't be a 30th anniversary party. That said, it's in Orlando. Hopefully I'll be able to work a booth and get at least myself in to help with the costs. R2 Builders will have a room. Like last year you just have to volunteer so many hours per day. I think it something like 4. something. I got in free last year with the R2 Builders. Keep a good eye on the R2 Builders Yahoo group. Or Astromech.net. You can also check the Celebration site.. A lot of time you can volunteer and get in free.
