As with our last forum, the rules will by and large be pretty lax here. However, there are some basic rules of conduct I think we should all strive to adhere to in order to make this forum a pleasant place for everyone.
RESPECT
Be civil with one another. Do not openly attack, insult, or berate any member. We are all free to argue issues with each other until we are blue in the face, but personal attacks will not be tolerated. Anyone guilty of such an act will be reprimanded, not excluding a ban.
Also. just because these two topics often lead to heated discussions that result in hurt feelings, I would prefer that all discussion of politics and religion be kept off the forum. Any current event topic may be discussed if someone deems it necessary, but if I or any of the other moderators think the conversation is deteriorating, it will be shut down.
LANGUAGE
We are all adults and should be able to converse normally. However, excessive use of profanity and/or any discussions of an obscene nature may be edited without warning. Any member who is repeatedly warned against such acts may be banned.
IMAGES
You are free to post images when necessary, but please limit the width to less than 700 pixels so the screen does not stretch to an unreadable width for members using 800x600 resolution or lower. Also, please try to limit the size of the file to less than 100k as not everyone who visits us has a broadband internet connection. Most free image hosts will also create links for thumbnail images that are smaller in pixels and file size. If your image is too large and you cannot resize it, please simply post a link to it so people have the option of loading it instead of being forced to load it every time they load that page. Any images that are deemed to be too large either in scope or file size will be edited.
SPAM
Spam will not be tolerated. Any messages containing spam will instantly be deleted. Spam is defined as "one or more unsolicited messages, sent or posted as part of a larger collection of messages, all having substantially identical content" (advertisements, hate speech, solicitations, etc.). If you as a member witness spamming, or think you might see spam, please notify an Admin or Moderator immediately.
PORNOGRAPHY
Pornography is not permitted in this community. Linking to pornography is also prohibitted. Sometimes there is a gray area when it comes to certain images or videos. Images that depict bits of nudity are not always classified as pornographic. I expect everyone to use their good judgment when posting to outside media. Remember that some people visit us from a work computer, so if you link to some questionable material, please use a "NSFW" header in your post title. "NSFW" means "Not Safe For Work."
Bottom line: posting or linking to pornography is a bannable offense, so tread lightly when it comes to adult material. This a family forum, not a seedy bar downtown.
CONCLUSION
