Posts: 925 Thu, Apr 13, 2006 2:54 PM	Tags : None Hey gang, In case you were wondering where I've been lately... Family emergencies. My mom was airlifted to FL Hospital last week with a head injury. That same night Arrow (my dog) got sick and the next morning was hospitalized and on IVs for two days. By now Arrow has bounced back (going stir-crazy, actually), but Mom is having a difficult recovery. I'm spending a lot of time taking care of her at her place (no computer access) and when I'm home I'm either catching up on housework or sleeping. So I've only been keeping up with like 3 topics that tend to be time-sensitive. If you need me, feel free to call, email or pm. REALLY looking forward to our shindig on Saturday. Need a good dose of fun and good company! See a bunch of you then. We could all then display them together at, say, DragonCon or ComicCon or both. Maybe not in time for this year, but there's plenty of time for next!

I'm still not at home very much, apologies to anyone I'm not replying to or posting replies to. In other news, Arrow ate a box of roach traps, and for dessert a box of ant traps... Fortunately Poison Control was more concerned with whether she ate the plastic vs. whether poison intended to kill a roach/ant would hurt an 80-lb. canine. sigh

I'll my fingers crossed and good thoughts flowing that she recovers fully in time. It is always amazing to me how a tornado can throw a baby 50 yds into a tree with hardly a scratch but we fall 3 feet and we suffer life altering injuries. And fortunately the bug poisons weren't harmful to Arrow but plastic can be pretty dangerous for animals seeminly indestructable tender innards. After all she's been through in the last month a plastic block would be the topper. So glad she's alright.

If it's any consolation, this IS the forum I check the most--so you know I wasn't off cheating on another forum the whole time, LOL! As soon as I got back from C4, it was straight into Star Wars Weekends. After Star Wars Weekends, all my energies went into two goals: The National Rifle & Pistol Matches at Camp Perry, Ohio (end of July/beginning of August); and Pioneer Days (mid-October). I placed 509th out of over 1200 competitors at Nationals; 22nd out of 74 women. I fired my best ever 600 yard score, 195-7X (out of 200), at the National Trophy Individual Match. I shot my first "clean" target (100 out of 100). And I was filmed and interviewed for Shooting Sports USA. In September I earned my Master classification, which is the next-to-highest rating in NRA competitive shooting sports. Meanwhile, I worked steadily on all the pieces of an 1880's Victorian day dress for my gig as a historical narrator at Pioneer Days. The six pieces (combination, corset, petticoat, two skirts and a jacket bodice) plus hat and reticule took me approximately four months to complete. Anyway, I'm back now, just not posting anywhere as much as I used to. Funny how hard it is to get back online after breaking the habit!
