Okay so I;ve made a few posts here & there but shamefully not introduced my again formally. I'm Russ (formerly dragonsaw on the lovingly missed boards) yes the first and last names run togther now. I am technically homeless now but based in Orlando near maitland. My job requires very frequent travel mostly to cold inhospitable places because my bosses are mean and know I like the warm spots. Anyway I kinda cross the gamut of loving SW.....I do a little collecting for my own fun and enjoyment (I open my boxes)....I have requested time off for megacon and am working on a jedi costume...and naturally love all the movies......and I tend to type a lot. (a lot more than I talk)

Hey, I'm Dave. I found this board from the tfn orlando board, and thought I'd check it out. There didn't seem to be much activity there, so hopefully there's living fans around here... Other fans have been hard to find! Anyhow, hoping to meet some new friends who don't mind my nerdy SW fixation.

Welcome aboard, Dave. The bad news is that the group has taken a beating in the last couple of months. At the height of our activity we had a board completely crash and burn. We had as many as 50 people regularly participating and lots of lurkers when the board died. We're regrouping here, but with no imminent SW events out there not many people are checking in.
The good news is that we are looking for new blood to form the new group. What's your pleasure? Are you into the EU or just the movies? Do you costume or collect? Do you want to? Hope to see you around. -Campbell |

I'm sorry to hear about the group having trouble, hopefully we can pulling things together though! As for my pleasure.. heh. I used to collect SW toys when I was a kid, but they're all boxed up and in storage with my parent's stuff at the moment. I couldn't bring them with me when I went off to college.
 The only two things that keep me from being an avid collector are money and space to put collectables. Other than that, I've been itching to get into costuming, and am interested in the role playing side of things, live, text-based, or other wise. As for the cannon stuff, I'm probably more into the EU and novels, but I definately enjoy the movies, and watch them whenever possible. I was actually planning on hitting MegaCon, and have been scheming ways to get a costume together in time to go all duded up. Thanks for the quick welcome, Campbell! Hopefully I'll be seeing you around as well.~ |

It's like trying to reassemble the Rebel Alliance after the beat down they took on Hoth. First everyone scatters to make it difficult to follow and then everyone has to rendevous at the new secret hiding spot. Slowly but surely . . . and then we ATTACK!!!

Looking at the MegaCon site, it appears there will be a Star Wars costume contest... Will anyone from FFOS be participating in that event? I'm planning on it if I finish a decent costume in time.

I'm here sorry if I don't respond to often. I have tried to take a peep as frequently as possible. Hopefully I'll be able to pay more attention now. Training is finally over and most of the stress. I'm in Abilene, TX right now and will be going to Great Falls MT (for Christmas no less evil wicked bosses I'm not supposed to work on Christmas) Kent, WA, Calgary Canada, Somewhere in OH and a couple more places to be added in the next 2 months. It's good to see a couple new people on and a big WELCOME! to them. Maybe I'll get to see a few of you at megacon or FX. I'm going to try and go to both. |
