I would say something similar to Mike. I'm not a fan of TheForce.net since they revamped their site (and made it terribly busy and user-unfriendly) a while back, but I don't know what we gain by cutting them off. However, this same attitude is why I always downplay the term FanForce.

The one thing I've considered in the way of connecting more with them is to about have a sister FanForce in another city. I considered Calgary, as we used to have a friend, Jay, out there. Ia, if she and Aaron are active with anything in Ohio, might be able to get us linked up with her group. Anyone else have out-of-state or out-of-country groups they have some connection too? I'm not suggesting a webring so much as a particular group that we could focus on to learn more about their efforts as an organization.

However, if anyone has any reason that we should cut free of tf.n I'm open to talking about it. They don't help us much, but they were my and several others gateway to finding, or founding, the OS.

Well, I envisioned it to be a place to be able to find out about what one other community is doing, for ideas that make them work and thrive. As far as collectors, it could give us access to another places good stuff (Orlando should be an attractive sister in that regard, an international partner would be nice). Possibly to meet when out of town or in one another's towns. Those are just some ideas.

Basically to expand our network, but not expand it like on national threads. That sort of thing makes it too easy to get lost in the crowd. I'm imagining them checking threads they like on our site and we theirs.

Does that make any sense?

It's finally happened. Due to no activity on our official FanForce boards in months, we've been dropped as an active FanForce. What does this mean to us? Well, not a whole lot. We've gotten very few new members in the last couple of years and virtually none through TF.n. With the "E.T. laying in the stream" status of the OS in general, I don't think fighting for our official status is very important.

However, if you disagree and would like to see us have a presence there again, speak up and plan to do so on the old boards as well.
