I know it's not a popular sentiment, but I really dislike the character style and the voices on the regular show. Fortunately, on this one the clips I've seen include very accurate sound effects, settings, and music and some great jabs at SW. The show's an hour on Fox starting at 9pm.

Posts: 1278 Mon, Sep 24, 2007 7:13 AM *St. Charles, MO*	I thought this was largely unfunny. I found maybe 3 - 4 things amusing for the whole one hour episode. Is McFarlane's idea of comedy to replicate things from our youth? What happened to jokes? Meh. Robot Chicken was better.

And that's coming from a person that really, really does not like this show typically. Something about the pair of testicles on the main character's chin... Anyhow, I'm amazed that they were able to use so much John Williams music.

Posts: 717 Mon, Sep 24, 2007 7:48 PM *Deltona*	John Williams is in the episode as was Danny Elfman...both in an unfunny scene. I thought it was just me, but I never found this show all that funny. In fact, I thought it was funnier last year when Cartman (South Park) tried to stop the creation of Family Guy. I think Lucas probably let FG use the sound effects, etc., similar to what he did with Robot Chicken. In fact Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie... has a scene that simulates an AT-AT attack as well. I guess if I was 13, I would have thought FG was more funny. Then again, if I was 13, I probably wouldn't have understood half of the SW joke attempts as well. Bleh...

I mean he doesn't need the money so why let them do these lame jokes. Some things were funny, but whats up with the molester dude?

They say it's funny that the old molester guy ends up being Obi-Wan because he is the only popular old character on the show. I did find it amusing that existing FamilyGuy characters have to fit into SW roles ( like Meg appears as the trash monster for only a second because no one likes Meg). I also enjoy little things like the pimped Tie-fighter that goes by. I know it is a challange to make original humor that is not offensive or foul but they have a large budget and a writer staff. So what is their excuse for not making it better than it was? For now, I'm content with comedy that only comes in black and white.

There were a number of parts that were funny and then long stretches of not-so-funny. One of my favorite parts was when John Williams had been burned at the Lars Homestead and Danny Elfman took over. The most interesting part of it all for me was constantly imagining an animated version of the original trilogy. ...especially if it didn't feature the cast of Family Guy.

There are some really slow parts and about one out of every three gags are misses. Did we really need 2 minutes of "I've Had the Time of My Life" from the pedophile Kenobi?

There is a very good 12-minute interview of George Lucas by Seth McFarlane and a compilation of the SW references in the first 5 seasons of Family Guy. As I won't probably ever see these episodes, it's a perfect boiling down for me. I wish other shows would release similar Star Wars "tributes" as I could be reeled in time and again. Can you hear me That 70s Show? Looking forward to Robot Chicken's upcoming Star Wars DVD

One shows the logo for next season's Empire parody (including an image of the Family Guy version of Boba Fett), the other has a 2-minute table read from this upcoming episode. Amazingly, I'm only hearing about these eggs now. It's amazing because when we first got this DVD no one was absolutely certain there was even going to be a sequel.

There was also a funny Temple of Doom reference when Stewie pulled out Meg's heart. Funniest of all, and not related to the show otherwise was the opening that was a perfect take-off on the opening of The Super Friends.
