For anyone who reads comics still, Dark Horse put out a one shot comic follow-up to ROTS called Purge. It's about Vader and his quest to wipe out Jedi & find Obi Wan, I don't want to ruin it if you do want to read it but it's pretty good. For 3 bucks its worth a shot. To bad its a one time thing I enjoyed it.

I'm going to have to pick this one up. This image is one of the more haunting pictures of Vader.

Sci-Fi City would carry it. So would Bad Apple if you're near FL Mall, Comic Connection near Sea World, Coliseum of Comics (several locations like Fashion Sq and SOBT). Any comic shop.

Yeah most shops that Campbell mentioned should have it. It might not be on the stand anymore since it came out at the end of Dec, just depends. Just ask if you don't see it. I picked mine up at Acme Superstore off of 434 and 17-92.

availability update | #6

Okay, I found another reason to get this comic: this character is in it. Her costume on the cover of a game box at FX caught my eye.
Bad Apple has one copy left as of five minutes ago; I'm going to pick it up on my post office/bank run this afternoon. Coliseum of Comics at Fashion Square and OBT are out, but OBT is reordering and expecting more copies in 1-2 weeks. I didn't realize the OBT store was so close to my house! Sci-Fi City is out. |

I saw quite a few slightly bent copies at Books-A-Million (I-Drive) on Saturday night. I thumbed through it and actually passed. I was disappointed that I couldn't find the image I'd posted earlier in the book. I wonder if the woman in that same picture happens to be your Sia-Lan?

I just went to Acme Comics tonight (1st time). If I would have read this post earlier I could have picked up the comic for you!
If ya'll haven't been to Acme, you will be blown away by all the SW stuff they have. My eyes were popping out the whole time! And there are hundreds and hundreds of comics. Fun, fun, fun!! |

I'm 99% sure Audrey already got the comic. Wonder what she thinks of it...
I'm looking forward to hitting Acme- I haven't been there since the 90s. |

Legacy | #12 | ||
|
I'm cautiously interested in Star Wars Legacy. It's set over a century after the OT featuring the descendents of our heroes. I read the page in the inset. It tells the backstory of Cade Skywalker. While the overall plot sounds a bit done (the remnants of the Empire vs. the remnants of the Jedi), this guy seems fresh. I doubt I'll buy the book, but I may watch it's progression with some interest.

I think Acme is the one Orlando area comic shop that I haven't been too. Where precisely is it (I missed if it was mentioned above)? Also, if yall haven't read those early Marvel Comics, you're missing out on a treat. Campbell is presumeably repulsed by the lime green carnivorous version of Bugs Bunny that Luke has some adventures with, lol.

Jaxxon. His name is Jaxxon.
And he has a red and white jumpsuit and big buck teeth. And I get grief for liking the Holiday Special.... |

Re: Free Comic Book Day | #15

Free Comic Book Day is the 6th of May. Star Wars is featured again this year in a flipbook with Conan. Unfortunately, this is some sort of barbarian and not a comic about Conan O'Brien.
Check it out, y'all. -the funk C brother. |

I did get the Purge comic. It was all right *shrug*. Jedi (and Sith) sure are obsessed with decapitations and sudden removal of limbs, prosthetic or organic.

More 70s Marvel spam: The comics that came out in the late 70s after Star Wars, yet before Empire are awesome. You get to read fun stories where Jabba the Hutt is a camel-faced humanoid, where Luke doesn't know how to swim (and is trapped on a pirate ship on a "Waterworld" with sentient lizards), and where Jaxxon the buck-toothed bugs bunny on a bad acid trip romps through the known galaxy!

Somehow I wandered onto this thread...
I think I read a few of the first star wars comic books that ever came out but I don't have em anymore and couldn't tell you a thing about them. Acme is on 434 near 17-92...If you go 17-92 towards longwood (from 436) you make a left on 434. Acme is about approx. two blocks on the right in a very small strip. |

I need to get to Acme, too. It's been many years. Unfortunately, I just let their 20% off coupon expire; I'd gotten it at FX.
I like those compendiums of the Marvel comics that Walter is talking about. There's some really interesting work in their from the early days of the Expanded Universe. As a matter of fact, an old aquaintance of Walter's did some art in some of them. |

Empire Volume 4 | #20 | ||
|
I just read Empire v4: The Heart of the Rebellion. It's a compendium of 3 storylines from Star Wars comics centered on Leia. I enjoyed the read and the artwork is passable, nothing great. The first story features dialogue from the Star Wars Radio Show so it was nice to see that illustrated for once. The stories focus on the Princess as she learns about warfare, meets an old Aldaraanian companion, and begins to see Han in a different light.
