Here's a thread to note interesting articles or features from StarWars.com (or commentary about the site). There's a separate thread for the Hyperspace side of things.

SW.com has featured a lot of features in the last year about muscal acts that are into Star Wars. Here's a funny article about The Darkness and their love of a Galaxy Far, Far Away.

If you've never checked out the captions on SW.com, it's pretty funny, as this recent one.

Dane Cook | #4 | ||
|
Any fans of Dane Cook out there? I've actually never seen him perform, but I hear people talking about him all the time. SW.com has a funny article about his love of Star Wars here.
Here's him talking about an upcoming movie, Quote: |

Dane Cook is overrated. He's not nearly as funny as people claim he is. I don't know. I guess he really knows how to work his MySpace page to lure in those impressionable young college kids. I've seen one of his shows and I saw him host SNL. Neither were very funny. But then, SNL hardly ever is anymore so maybe I can't hold that against him.

Podcast | #6 | ||

Perhaps in response to TF.n's Force-casts, or maybe even 9mmEd's, StarWars.com has gotten in on the podcast scene. It's not even part of Hyperspace. Check it out here.

Personally I would download the broadcast down but I don't think my computer can handle it. I would need to check my memory.

Take a look at this October 1978 commercial for Majik Market. When you can't afford Buddy Hackett, this guy'll do.

Visual Guides | #9 | ||

Anyone keeping up with the Visual Guides on the official site? I hope something like this eventually gets published in book form. This may be one of the most in-depth analyses of SW yet.

Coke 1 Landspeeder in FLORIDA | #10 | ||

Here's a cool article about a Coca-Cola Landspeeder that was recently impounded in Cedar Grove, Florida. It's actually a true story, and very interesting.

Dang! Now that is sweet. I would probably buy that. That is something. It has my favorite soda on it and it is a star wars design.

Cool. Nice set of wheels. Hey wait a minute, I thought speeders didn't have wheels.

Ha, excellent question. Dunno. Maybe it was a fundraiser for the town? Or maybe the charity just couldn't unload it, that being before eBay really had any presence. (eBay started in '95)

Is anyone else having problems with StarWars.com? While sites like YouTube work excellently on my computer, most of the video I get from SW is choppy and slow-loading. I've been really disappointed with the half-assed revamp they've done. It's hard to believe considering Lucasfilm's reputation elsewhere in the industry. I like the content on SW.com, but the way it's delivered has been tired for five years and it doesn't seem to be getting better.

Tell you what...the Star Wars Shop looks amazing! Not sure if it had anything to do with the survey everyone filled out a while back, but wow. Very streamlined
and bold. If you haven't had a chance to check it out, head on over to www.starwarsshop.com and take a look!
