Apparently there was a special this past weekend that featured Sansweet's collection. Four people at work that are not fans of SW at all told me about it. Oops. Anybody catch it?

As I was packing to come home christmas day I had on the tv but wasn't really paying attention. The History channel or A&E or something like that. It was some show about the birth of Jesus and they were going on about Mary. In some moment that I stopped a second to watch they made the comment and I loosely quote, "The Virgin Mary was much like Princess Leia of Star Wars. She led the rebels in their fight against an empire". I was too hysterical to remember what came next.
Bwah ha ha.......However many pseudo-religious connotations Lucas may have brought into SW I never thought I'd hear a real biblical figure related to any character during a serious description of their life. I almost forgot this until Jessie and I were leaving Borders |

I did the same thing when I saw this last Spring. The doc is called "The Two Marys." There's no other references, but I recall the show talking about how the V. Mary may have been involved in a sort of "underground railroad," for slave Jews. I think after suggesting this, the narrator asks, "Could Mary have been the Princess Leia of her day, leading rebels against a tyrannical empire?"
There was no mention of whether or not Sidious conceived Jesus. |

We were watching a rerun of supernatural last night and noticed that dean introduced himself as Ford and his brother as Hammil
very obviously meaning Harrison Ford and Mark Hammil and the little boy in the story was named Lucas..... quite odd huh? what is it with the WB and star wars? |

That reminds me- do we have any idea what network will get the live action Star Wars show? Hmm. I'm almost positive that the animated one is slated for Cartoon Network again.

Not necessarily. Fox was merely a distributor for the films. I'm not even sure if they have a TV deal with Lucas. The show could end up anywhere, even first run syndication.

I was watching The Grim adventures of Billy and Mandy with my 10 year old cousin. It was their Christmas special. Billy and Mandy had to go to the North pole. Billy walks into a cave and there is an abominal (sp?) snowman in there and in the background you see someone(supposed to be Luke) hanging upside down and reaching for his lightsaber. I thought that was pretty good.

Cambell, just remember that it wont be Universal....they are the ones that laughed at lucas and told him star wars would never make money.... GE owns nbc and universal.... so I would guess abc, WB, or fox.....
based on how firefly didnt do well on wb and only sex sells on the wb I would then narrow it down to fox or abc i wouldnt be surprised to se it move to sci-fi...oh wait that owned by GE, which is in conection with nbc and universal |

oh , just rememberred, we were watching the second episode of snl from last night (new years) and it was a rerun from 1993. The host was luke Perry (you know from 90210) and when hes doing his intro an image of obiwan kenobi comes up and says "use the force luke, they dont think you are funny, use the force" and then his reply is "star wars was like 15 years ago, it isnt funny anymore"
and the obi wan guy says "why is everyone laughing at me then, and no one is laughing at you??" |
