Here's a thread devoted to the magazine since it's now a separate product from the Fan Club (Hyperspace). Starting at the back there's a cool ad for C4, a nice ad for the new "Vintage" figures, and in the SWS section there's a great new black t-shirt sporting the 30th Anniversary logo. Hah, I really like this stuff, but it's funny that I just ranted in another thread about Lucasfilm ripping us off with commercialism [ads now a part of Hyperspace]. It was $10.99 plus $0.33 for the International Service Fee since it ships from Canada. Subscribers got a bit of a discount, can't remember exactly how much. Unless I hear different, I'm skipping it. I'm a huge fan of the Insider and have every issue, but I don't need reprints. While I don't particularly care for the work he's done here, it is interesting to compare this new Empire-inspired art compared to his iconic original poster art. In an unusual move, subscribers are not going to be given the poster. We'll have to go buy a newsstand edition to get this poster... or not. from YodasNews: To mark the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back, Titan’s December edition of Star Wars Insider magazine includes an exclusive limited edition collector's cover and large size pull-out poster drawn by original Star Wars comic book artist, Howard Chaykin! Chaykin, who drew the first limited-edition Star Wars poster in 1976, has now created a special Empire Strikes Back image exclusively for Star Wars Insider, the official magazine of the Star Wars saga. I'm certain there will be people that think it's great (my taste in Star Wars art has been very controversial) but I find it totally uninspired. There's also an Insider Interview Special of reprinted interviews currently out. You can preview the whole book throught a Zinio link on the same page. Well, the ad for it is in issue #2 of the new The Clone Wars magazine which I believe will be on store shelves soon if it's not already. In the ad, it says "On Sale Now". Not sure if that means online or in stores, but it must be coming soon either way. I put up the link last month about 4 posts up. ALSO, I just got an email from Titan talking about the new R2-D2 magazine holder. Nifty thought I till I saw the price they are asking. Perhaps better prices are elsewhere, but the subscription price listed is $46.50 for 9 issues. This is by far the highest they've ever charged and is the first year I may consider dropping it (after never missing an issue). They also sell 7 digital issues for $23.95. Makes me wonder if they are coming close to stopping the print edition in the foreseeable future.
