Yeah, I'm in the process of an alteration at work myself. I'm hoping to attend at least one of these. Wednesday (ESB) seems the most likely, but it's all up in the air.

I actually might go to The Empire Strikes Back and/or Return of the Jedi, due to having those days off. Good find. Might be fun.
Brandon THIS IS NOT AN EXIT.

First night The Phantom Menace | #7
|
Well, here's my report
I met Russ in full Jedi regalia last night at Casselberry's rec. center around 7:15pm. I brought a friend from work with me. We arrived just as Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan were about to escape Naboo with the Queen. Russ told us the film had started right around 7pm, which was great because my friend and I got out of work at 5:30 and we still had to change. The sound sytem for the films is great. Loud and in your face just the way I like it I'm not sure what occured at 6pm. Maybe the costume contest? They have posters from all 6 films on the walls plus other character posters on an opposite wall. Between the 2 walls with posters is a diorama of fighter's and destroyers going at it with the death star in the background. They hung them on fishing line from the ceiling and it looks great! There's a "museum" of different SW collectibles in one room including cereal boxes, toys, books, figures and all sorts of uniques collectibles. Campbell, I know you'll love it On the other side of the big hall (where the films are showing) is another big room with tables set up to play SW chess. There's a diorama of the battle of Endor, too! The guy who set it up took all the fake plants in the center to set it up. Very cool! There are also 2 t.v.'s where you can play SW video games on either an Xbox or vintage Nintendo game system. On the Nin. you can play vintange Ep.'s 4, 5, 6 and I didn't catch what the game was on the Xbox but, the t.v. is quite large. I loved the pin ball machine with it's stormtroopers. And if you bring the kids, there are pint sized tables and chairs just for them Well, I plan on going tonight and Sunday. Sunday is supposed to be "the day" where Vader and different troopers will arrive. I think they're planning for a photo op. Audrey can you come as an officer? Well, hope to see any of you there! See ya! Jess |

That's awesome, Jess! Thanks for the review. I didn't know how much effort they put into it, but that sounds like it was a lot of fun. If I go it'll be midweek due to work, but I'm really glad you got to go the first night.

Second night - Attack of the Clones | #9
|
Well, I made a slight boo-boo....
Tonight was the photo op with (501st members) Vader, stormtroopers, Darth Maul, a Tuskan Raider and hordes of mini Jedi, troopers and the cutest Dagobah Luke I've ever seen. I wish I would have brought my camera!!! And dressed up!!! But, luck has it, I will be sent photos by email so, I will post them as soon as I get 'em. Tonight was great! So many more people of all ages came. Even a baby Yoda! The costume contest was so cute. About 3 kids won prizes. One of my fav's was a little boy dressed as a Jawa The decor was much better, too. It looks like they had more time the night before to put up more posters and decor. It looked fantastic. Felt like home and I didn't want to leave! My friend and I tried sitting on the floor mat tonight. The chairs the night before made our rumps sore. Let me tell ya, it was no different on the floor (haa, haa!) But I had a great time sitting amongst all the little ones. I left a little deaf but, it was well worth it. Just a little bit of advise, if you sit way up front be prepared to be blown away by the sound quality. It's awesome but, it will hurt I can't say enough how much I appreciate the big screen. You can see every nook and crany. I could see the costumes and the detail much, much better. I gotta by a big screen one day Hope ya'll can make it during the week. It's really great and you won't be disappointed. Take care! Jess |

Cassel"Na"berry movie nights | #10
|
Well I think Jess summed up friday night and the scheme of things very well. It's not a movie theater, but at the distant you're sitting it's pretty close. It's a good 21 feet across. Not surround sound but still good and theater loud. Hearing a group react as if in atheatre has been fun. The Little set ups in the rooms aren't what I'd except at a con but then again so much more than I expected for a small community venue. Very cool that they went through the effort to show their's and fans spirit and kinda reminds me of things I (we?) did to enhance our toy playing experience.
Last Night (Sunday) I showed up early in suit and entertained the kids answering questions and explaining my lightsaber was not a toy to show but a real weapon and I wouldn't activate it just for show. Pre-show activities are kid oriented. They had coloring contests. Quiz contest using the saga trivial pursuit dvd. kids costume contest (um I shoulda won) but it went to the only little girl present who had an admirable Amidala looking dress. Overall I've enjoyed the first two nights attended . At least seeing them on such a large format I've caught details difficult to see on 27" tv. And I actually heard the line in my last trivia question re: Bail escaping the temple. |

Aw, I wish I could have been there! I'm glad you had fun Russ. It's true that the big screen shows so much more costume detail. I hope there's something like this again. So, who went last night?

I'm glad a couple of us made it out to this. Good for you! Jessie, if you get those pictures I'm interested in seeing them. Really wish I'd made it out there, but working at 10pm just didn't allow it.
Russ, I like the lightsaber as real weapon explanation. Jedi think on their feet! |
