I just listed this. I waited six months for this thing to come in from Star Wars Shop. It's a gorgeous watch but I've already got enough watches, and I can think of other things I'd rather have for the $150 I paid for it. -Campbell

At Celebration III this year, LEGO had an 8-foot Jedi Cruiser displayed. It's being sold on Ebay with 100% of the proceeds going to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita recovery. The good news, free shipping! The bad news (for potential buyers), the price at the moment is $8100*. Good show, LEGO!

Skill, my boy, skill. Checked Ebay this morning and accidentally found something I've wanted for some time. The Darth Vader Helmet Water Globe. I've followed the trail of 2005 waterglobe releases since the beginning of the year and decided to get this one as soon as I saw it. I didn't want to pre-order it from SWS or Entertainment Earth, partly because it was $59.99 both places plus shipping. Then a funny thing happened. Once it was released it sold out from most places and both SWS and EE started listing it at $99.99 plus shipping. Now I certainly wasn't going to pay $100 for something I was undecided about so I began to look for it on Ebay.
I hadn't seen it for less than $80 until I randomly checked it today. After a slightly tense 20 minutes, I beat the next highest bidder and got the Globe for $52.01. Sometimes it pays to wait. As a collector, I've learned that it's important to decide what price an item is worth to you. Wait till you find it at that price or re-evaluate how much you want it. addendum: I'm a big C-3PO fan and found an interesting full size torso of the droid here. Even if you're not a fan of Goldenrod, this is worth a look, if only to see the seller's Batman, Superman, and Joker busts. |

Hm, guess I'll have to check eBay for the Battle of Hoth snow globe... I forgot to ask if FIDM had it, when I made my big 30% off order before Christmas.

I also grabbed the Vader Helmet snow globe, but have not installed batteries in it yet. Mine came from SWShop, $59 plus shipping. A bit pricey, but a very unique collectible. There are several others I want to pick up as well.
The New Hope globe retails for $99, but I've seen many ebay auctions at less than $70. Patience definately can save you money! |

So true. There were batteries in mine when I received it from the secondary market. I got what I'd hoped for. I like the light fairly well and the helmet is very accurately sculpted. I do recall at the moment that one of the globes was to have a pump for the water to move around, was it this one? Mine doesn't pump.

I actually didn't order them. I was just so impressed with the deal I wanted to share it. I'll bet you'll be happy, I recall the seller had a very safe rating. Fingers crossed, but I doubt it's necessary. -C

Yeah, you know I remember seeing a thread for burger king, but couldn't find it last night. It was the first thread I saw today, of course.
