Similar to this year's Separation of the Twins Wal-mart figures, Hasbro announces a Target exclusive Demise of Grievous figure. It's a neat idea. I don't think it puts us any closer to a "Crispy Lars couple" 2-pack I've been wanting, but I can still hope. -Campbell

Months ago Hasbro told us they were putting out a new Cinemacast Vader (the original is a prized part of my collection, partly because it often adorned Lucas's office in mid-90's interviews). It was slated to be a Wal-mart exclusive, which had all of us scratching our heads. Now it seems it's an exclusive for E-tailers and Entertainment Earth has listed it for Pre-order.
At present this seems to be a pretty easy pass for me. The outstretched right hand whispers Force Battler in my ear, the lightsaber (from the angle in the promo-shot) looks a mite short, and how many times are we gonna see the Man in Black on Mustafar? Dude never set foot there.... I know, I know- making a lot of assumptions, but the piece really doesn't grab me. With all the Vader availability this past year this comes a day late and a dollar short. Not that the price is short on dollars- it'll cost you over a hundred. |

I hope Kyle's got his ears on. He wass wanting this thing. The only time I've seen it (in 2005 pkg) was at BJs Millenia. It seems like the sort of thing one might find in OUaT. -Campbell

Not yet, am hoping to see it even cheaper.
I like the Code 3 posters, they are just a little pricey. (I've seen the larger ROTJ for $35.) If they stopped with this line, my feelings would not be hurt. They do look great displayed amongst the GG & SS stuff. I skipped the ROTS Vader mini poster. The pose was just too stupid. |

Toy Fair Exclusives. I don't feel too bad about missing these. The Gold Titanium TIE Advanced can be gotten at other conventions this year and the Vader Bust-Up is the third time this not-my-favorite sculpt has been used.

the only thing I really "collect" at this point is the convention exclusive stuff...i was slightly into collecting around epII but it got to be too expensive.
anyway, i wish they'd go back to those shiny silver exclusives like the silver r2! that was an awesome figure. the spraypainted silver fett, not so awesome. but silver! come on. help a bruther out. |

I agree that the silver, not matte, figures were cool. There were about 8 or 9 figures done in the silver-like way. I'm glad I got most of them but I'm fine with them taking a break. Maybe we'll see more for the 30th anniversary. It seems most exclusives became holographic for a lot of last year and this SDCC one just carries on the more current Trooper exclusives.

SW.com has put up an article listing the SWW exclusives for this year.
Browsing the pictures I'm not dying for anything, though the Darth Goofy might find his way into my house. And this year's artwork, Yoda vs. Vader, is distinctive only because it's an unseen duel. I like that oddness factor, but it will have to grow on me. |
