The Force Among Us |

Rebelscum announces a documentary crew coming to Florida the weekend of the 16th and 17th. Read about it here. Anyone interested in making a trek to Cape Coral? I'm not at all certain that I can make the trip due to work, but I'm curious to hear the OS response.

I'd be interested. I didn't have much time to read the whole article. When is it?

Next weekend. I don't know where Cape Coral is. I'm interested, but don't think I'm going to have time for this.

Cape Coral is near Ft. Myers. That's about 146 miles from here.

I'm definitely out, then. No time. If anyone makes it, I hope they'll let us know how it was.

I went ahead and purchased a copy a few days ago. The sellers claim that it will include a vial of authentic Tunisian sand.

That seems like a reasonable price.

That's what I thought, too. The basic edition was like $14, so this was not a huge step up. and they had me at free shipping.
...and I'm a sucker for free sand. |

Well Campbell thats the trick to buying many things now-a-days. It's not what there telling you is what you have to watch out for. It's what there not telling you about their item. But $19.99 is not a bad price.

Here's what they told me: TFAU:30.

Ok. That is very detailed. But I would like to know the location of the item. But otherwise that, that is not bad.

I enjoyed watching this film and I too went with the Special Edition which included the vial of sand.
I was actually a guest on The Force Among Us podcast last year with Cris Macht during an episode focusing on Star Wars Collectors. I'll see if I can find the link to the particular episode I was featured on. Administrator - RebelScum.com, Wedge Collection Engine & The Registry

Well, I was able to find the link. Here's the website with all the
different episodes listed. Myself and Roman were featured on The Force Among Us - Live : Ep. 6 - Star Wars collecting in TFAU. Our part of it is about
thirty-eight minutes into the show.

Very cool. I probably listened to that a while back.
I'm glad I got the DVD, but I have to say I'm not a big fan of TFAU. I wanted to be, and I've got several other films that profile a small number of Star Wars films and none of them have satisfied me. I've specifically not made this comment to the Force-Cast'ers because I know they are such big fans of Cris, but I honestly don't find him particularly interesting. I hope you know by now that I'm pretty excited by anything Star Wars that comes down the pike, but I really didn't think this nearly as special as TF.n has hyped it to be. I'm impressed by the fact that Macht and company travelled a lot for their movie, but I don't think it's well put together. I had a small party of friends over to watch it and those that stayed awake that afternoon were underwhelmed by it. I think a lot of it is that Macht was so present for interviews with the Force-Cast and was so regularly interviewed that I just got burnt out on him and his product. On the flipside, for Indiana Jones fans, Indyfans is a fantastic watch and covers more interesting ground than TFAU. |

Campbell, I think you might have hit the nail on the head. It was so hyped up prior to its release that it made you feel like you had already seen it once
you sat down to finally watch it. I enjoyed seeing it as it pertained to me quite a bit and I had met some of the people featured in the film. It is not
something I'd take out and watch every year like the Holiday Spe...uh...never mind. Administrator - RebelScum.com, Wedge Collection Engine & The Registry

It features interviews with fans, but also some of the creators of the costumes, the Sideshow Premium Format Figure, and the Disneyland Indy ride. Lots of fun. |
