Anyone know any Droid Builders? I'm not in need of one, but I'm curious about their craft. Anyone who went to the last Celebrations knows they are a well-organized and formidable group. I was poking around the internet and happened upon this interesting newsletter.

Well, not personally, and this may be off topic but, SWShop has a 15" R2-D2 that has 40 commands and acts like a room sentry and much more for $90. That's the cheapest I've seen him so far.

Stop right there!
 BJ's Shopping Club has the same industrial automaton for $60-$70. It's a repackaging of a toy that came out a few years ago and was priced at about $120 retail. R2's a great little droid that's even got an arm that holds a 12 oz. can and can be programmed to bring it to you.

Positively, I saw it at least a month ago (probably longer) at BJ's. I've heard other retailers have it, but the only other place I've seen it (2 nights ago) was at ONCE UPON A TOY.

I'm splitting this thread and creating "Aaron's Astromech Workshop" to chronicle the progress of Aaron's... R2. I was going to put the droid's designation till I realized that I've never asked Aaron if he's even decided on a name yet.
I wonder if he'll make it into R2-B1 like his Aaronb1 callsign here on the boards.  Perhaps this is a conversation best left to Aaron's thread. Sound's like Sharon's interested in eventually creating a droid of her own. Anyone else? Hopefully other builders will pop in and join the group. I got special permission from the R2 club to post our patches if you are interested in purchase them.
Currently I am only planning on making the Hoth Version of this patch,

I'm in! Have you ordered yours yet, Aaron? Can you add me to your order for one patch? I can pay you Saturday before SW in Concert. Since the designs appear to be exactly the same, I wouldn't need the brown/Dagobah(?) version. I was about to order one for myself till I saw he wanted a forum name.

I was at Jungle River Golf on North I-Drive a few months back and spotted this strange dome sitting on a rustic cart. Couldn't help thinking it looked like something from Watto's JunkYard.
