Anyone following the Hobbit movie development? I've only read headlines, but I understand the project is to be produced (not directed?) by Peter Jackson, and is to be made into two films.
This leads me to the question of who should play Bilbo. Despite Gandalf noting that Bilbo had not aged in FotR, I was actually disappointed in seeing Ian Holm portray him in the flashback of finding the One Ring. If I recall correctly, Frodo was actually older in LotR that Bilbo was in The Hobbit, so for the new movies, I seriously hope they go with a younger actor than Ian Holm. I love Holm in this role and in many others, but he's old enough to make Harrison Ford look like an Olympic athlete.
I've only heard one rumor on the subject of casting Bilbo: Martin Freeman of Britain's The Office, Love Actually, and Hitchhiker's Guide fame. I needn't hear anything more. I think he's a perfect choice, and he's already got Hobbit hair.
