What song is stuck in your head? Inquiring minds want to know, and here's your chance to upload it out of your head and into our collective impressionable one.

The song stuck in my head at the moment is Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues. "I hear a train a coming..."

Mollosus, essentially the theme track (#10) from the BATMAN BEGINS score. Fantastic, it's been on repeat in my car for the last few days and much of my waking time has it rattling in my head somewhere. Like now. It's a charging march that I can't, and don't want to, get rid of.

Coldwerk | #5 | ||

"Computer Love" by Kraftwerk. I heard the new Coldplay song "Talk" and was amazed that I totally knew the melody from the old 80s song. Not only do I like the Coldplay usage, I'm really glad it got me to pull out my Kraftwerk albums.
If you're not familiar with Kraftwerk they're the early electronic band lovingly parodied in the movie The Big Lebowski. They were a huge influence on dance music in the early 80s for bands like New Order and Depeche Mode. -Campbell |

Charlie Brown down | #6 | ||
|
I keep whistling the sad music from the Charlie Brown Christmas Special. I don't know the name of it, and I'm not even that down, but it's been in my psyche all day.

Linus and Lucy is the protypical Charlie Brown theme song and always cheers me up. It's on my holiday music compilation. The Broadway musical "Wicked" soundtrack is in my car CD player right now and I'm stuck between the showstopper numbers of "Popular" and "Defying Gravity."

I can only think the "sad" music from Charlie Brown Christmas is "Christmas Time is Here" cause it's a lullaby. Slow and Soft but that is sdtk is one of favourite christmas albums.
I just heard Alanis Morissettes Uninvited which I hadn't heard in a long time and it's now kinda stuck. And Mac's Landslide and Angel are always in my head. I sing (to myself) Landslide with the inflections and lyric variation Stevie sang on tour once though. And I do Angel in different genres depending on my mood. |

The Great Pumpkins | #10 | ||

I know you're a fan of Fleetwood Mac, but I actually like The Smashing Pumpkins version of Landslide the best.
I've got the Coldplay (Kraftwerk) song "Speed of Sound" roiling about in my brain. |

Shakira | #12 | ||
|
La Tortura by Shakira and Alejandro Sanz. Not my normal fare, but I saw her perform this on SNL last year and started digging it. Have listened to it a dozen times or so today so even when it's not playing I'm hearing it. This is the first song I can recall that made me want to learn how to dance with my girl. I grew up on the Fonzie school of dance (virtually no participation), so this is a huge change.

Mix 105.1 has a daily contest with a mix of 5 short segments where people win money if they are the first to identify all 5 songs. This morning's mix had En Vogue's "Free Your Mind" and it's been stuck in my head all day. It's spring break here at UCF so it's REALLY quiet and I've been wanting to crank that song since I heard it. I'll have to wait until I get home because I don't have it in the car or office....

Anna Nalick harkens back to singer/songwriters like Sarah MacLachlan and Beth Nielson Chapman. She makes you feel what she's feeling with very personal writing. I look forward to her next album.

Bird of Prey / both are from Halfway Between the Gutter... | #15 | ||
|
I've got Fatboy Slim's Star 69 in my mind. I'm trying to switch it to another catchy one, Bird of Prey (which features snippets of Jim Morrison), but Star 69 keeps repeating. And it's not the sort of lyric you can sing at work.

Ah, a Clockwork Orange fan. And if you don't know what I mean, you may wish to not see that movie. It'll forever change the way you hear that song.
As for me, I've had Superstitious by Stevie Wonder running thru my head lately. |

Re: Brand New Key | #18 | ||

Melanie's Brand New Key......you know it....the late 80's early 90's it was used by Fisher-Price for what else but their roller skates....."I've got a brand new pair of roller skates, you've got a brand new key.....I think that we should get together and try them out you see....." I heard it in the grocery a week ago and been singing it since. But I know most all the lyrics.
