MILLENIA FALCONS
This afternoon I saw two beautiful peregrine falcons sitting
on the middle of a power line about 5 feet from one another! I've seen them on perches like streetlights and powerline poles but never on the line, and I was surprised they were in the middle.
I walked around them and stood about 30 feet in front of them for about 3 minutes till one spotted something in
the grass and went for it. That one circled back to sit on the wire but a mockingbird gave it trouble so peregrine flew away. The second one sat there for maybe another minute, then took off after the first. Both of them were swooping and diving over Shingle Creek and the pond just beyond. Then I realized they were amid maybe four other
hawks of some sort, everybody careening through the
air.
A great sight.
