I wasn't going to, but enough people are bugging me to consider it! I don't know whether I'll be able to walk in the SWW parade this year, but it
would be nice to have the option of that, or participating in other (earlier) events, since none of my other costumes fit anymore!

Well, I'm always for you (Audrey) making more Star Wars costumes, but I voted something other than the Mustafar one because I just don't like that
particular costume. It must have been a design challenge to make an "action" costume for a pregnant woman, but it doesn't really say "Star
Wars" to me, and I find it unflattering and unattractive. That's just me, and relates to the costume designed for the movie, so if you make it
I'll still admire your attention to detail and quality. Also, it's such a downer costume. Padme's having a really bad day when she wears that.
I'm afraid of all the people you'd have to pose for, "Now cry and act like Anakin is choking you..." or "Like in a heap like you just
got thrown by Anakin..."
So if a pregnant costume is to be made I'd definitely vote more for the dark number she wore at the beginning of RotS when Anakin returned to Coruscant. |

I agree with him. I say go for any costume that is not that one and the nightgown. All though it does look great. Well I am sure you will look great in
whatever you decided to make. No matter what you choose chances are, since you made it, it will be awsome.

Hey guys, we must be thinking along the same lines. I don't really like the Mustafar one, either, and Campbell makes a good point about all the terrible
poses! It IS kind of a downer costume.
Campbell, I actually love the one she was wearing at the beginning of ROTS. The dress under the cape is linen (not hot) and would be relatively simple. The cape might not be too hard, except for trying to match that animal print velvet... but the accessories and hairstyle...! That's what I'm not sure I want to spend a lot of time on. The dress is worn alone later in the movie (in her apartment), but it's not nearly as exciting as the cape. |

Maybe you should stress less and plan a costume for late in the year. My suggestion: Padme as pilot from Attack of the Clones. THAT was a really cool costume
that I've never seen made by a fan.

Well Audrey I will always enjoy seeing your creations (even none SW) so of course another would be wonderful. The Mustafar is certainly recognizable but as
already agreed upon just not a happy time (Though you could re-enact the force choke w/Disney Studio's Anakin as C suggested). Also the nightgown with
pearls is overdone to me.
My first choice would be aqua georgette dress (padawan's guide) that she's wearing when Anakin leaves for Mustafar. Though still not from the happiest of moments it is pretty with the lace work and light airy and cool plus the hair is loose with just the headband. And still a more recgonizable Padme costume. Second Choice would be the blue furry fleece looking dressing gown (with lavender nightgown underneath) from when Obi Wan Visits prior to Mustafar. Third would be the green velvet robe (with the purple sash) would be nice but of course hot for summer. Can Ya tell I checked em all out before responding?! |

Russ, your first two choices are two of my favorites! And ones I have thought about making for myself, not even for costume events but just to have something
pretty and luxurious.
Doesn't look like I'll be making a pregnant costume at all, though. I keep wishing, but our house remodeling is WAY behind schedule, I'm in the third trimester and haven't even started thinking about Baby's room, so I think to save my sanity I'm just going to have to skip it.

 I was hoping to whip up a few little outfits for him before his arrival, but with all the stuff going on around here, I
haven't even finished the only one I started weeks ago. Much less make anything for myself! So, that's the end of the pregnant Padme costume for
sure.
