As some may have noted from comments elsewhere, I'm working on the Amidala Parade Gown for goddaughter and Maul for my godson to wear SWWE. I'm note
necessarily keeping my hopes up for the final results as I'm now under some time pressures to complete both. Hopefully soon I'll get some "in the
making" pictures to post with some descriptions and will definitely post final pics provided they turn out.

LOL on the jewelry! If I ever need that I think I'll hire it out. Good luck!

Here's some pics and comments so far.
Front view of the Maul cap. I cannot conscienably (spelling?) put a child in a bald cap or vinyl mask all day in summer heat. His face will be painted but
you gotta have horns to be Maul. This is my first attempt at fabric painting like this and is a little uneven but I doubt anyone will notice with him jumping
around. I stitched the horns from a pvc mask and freehanded the red paint based on the mask.
PS I like this feature to resize pics in the post.

Here's Pics of the costumes with comments. There weren't many with Dove in the Amidala costume as we had some issues that she didn't want to
wear it after despite many comments of how beautiful she and the costume looked but oh well.

Wow, they look amazing! I love the ballcap for Maul, what a GREAT and creative solution. And it's so cool that Disney Maul took time to pose him like that!
The Amidala is beautiful, too. Too bad she was "done" by the time you took that photo, the background looks so realistic and she looks fab on it!
Nice work, Russ!

Wow, Russ! Great stuff. The practical changes you made to the costumes make perfect sense. Most kids are not sticklers- it's us adults that are- and a
comfortable kid is going to be, and have, a lot more fun. Thanks a lot for showing us.
Personally, I'm especially impressed with the Darth Maul cap. I've got one of those masks and hope for a future OS Costuming class so I can make my own! Great idea! |

Thanks Guys! It was hard work but I learned alot. Some of the changes were out of not having the resources and or accurate info on how a piece was done
originally or like the "jewelry" on the back of the parasol was to hide the bicycle hub from which the spokes fan out. Having now tried to recreate
the costume I could go on ad nauseum about different aspects of the costume down to the greeblies.
