Well, as of a little bit ago, eFX has pre-sold all but about 20 of the McQuarrie Concept helmets. I went ahead and placed my order the second it dropped. Wasn't going to take a chance on it selling out by waiting a few days. I'm thinking that their lay-a-way plan is really helping the sales of this piece.

Thought I was covered, having placed an order via phone through Action Figure Xpress. When I never recieved a confirmation email, I called several times, only to get voicemail. Finally got in touch with a rep who informed me the order was not placed. Really upset, they took my credit card info and everything when I called last week. I did add myself to the efx waiting list on Monday, just in case. I would have ordered through them, just did not have the deposit available.

If you're not able to secure one new, it's possible (maybe not likely) that it will not rise in value. The small edition works against the possibility, but high ticket items often can't rise more that their initial price tags. For example, Master Replicas and Rubies high-end Vader helmets rarely sell for their original retail prices.

For the record, AFX sent me a bonus gift exclusive (koto AFX exclusive clone statue), and offered me a $50 credit on my next order. They also promised me dibs if anyone cancelled the McQ Vader helmet. I cannot say they did not try to make up for the mistake. In fact, the guy bent over backwards to make it up to me as best he could.
No hard feelings AFX! But... I did find a Rebelscum member who is not going to keep his preorder. He is willing to let me buy the one he ordered for himself. I REALLY want this very bad, and am overextending my budget to get it. Been a huge McQ fan since vintage times, this is a holy grail to me. You know, the #80 edition completely escaped my mind when I was buying prints at CV. I actually put some thought into what numbers I wanted on prints and ended up deciding on #47 for the T-47s, which "will take a while to load onto the transports." Unfortunately, I was late to the game and ended up with a couple of #247s.
