Posts: 6068 Mon, May 18, 2009 12:17 PM Consul - Orlando System Baron Admin	Tags : None Based on what I've heard, the name of the Port Saint Lucie group is The Port Saint Lucie Star Wars Club. Is this correct and final? I'd like to submit something like the Treasure Coast Star Wars Club to indicate that it's for a larger metropolitan area. However, this is far from my decision, and Rich you can stop this thread with a simple, "we've already decided on a name" post. If you wish to discuss it, here's a forum. I've also come up with possibly the worst club name you might want to consider, Club Thermal Exhaust Port Saint Lucie!

Posts: 979 Mon, May 18, 2009 7:42 PM Palm Bay	I was just thinking about this yesterday; where does Treasure coast end and Gold coast begin? I know that Vero and Ft. Pierce are Treasure coast areas. I also think that Rich's area doesn't always have to be addressed as "Port St. Lucie" . So maybe it could be shortened to St. Lucie Galactic Empire, or South Florida Star Wars Club

My quick Wikipedia research indicates that the First Coast around St. Augustine leads south to the Fun Coast of Daytona. This becomes the Space Coast around Cape Canaveral which recedes to the Treasure Coast in the South. The Gold Coast is further south still around metro-Miami, and the southern west coast goes by the term the Suncoast.

Posts: 1363 Mon, May 18, 2009 10:13 PM Administrator Tampa SW Club President Tampa	What I'd like to be careful of is not covering such a broad area as "south Florida" in the name since eventually, I'd like to have a Miami-ish club started and part of the SWGFA which is even further south than Port Saint Lucie. Does that make sense? Treasure Coast sounds good because it covers the area well.Keep the ideas coming.

Like our benefactors from the Yuma expedition, the San Diego Star Wars Society, you could call it the Treasure Coast Star Wars Society. The history of the area calls to mind the Space Pirates of the galaxy far, far away, so that's an avenue you might explore. Then again, recent news might preclude the use of the term 'pirate.' Raiders of the Treasure Coast? The Treasure Coast Space Pirates?

And I just wanted to let everybody know I am going to close my meetup.com account because of the cost and I want to use the Alliance site for members to communicate. I have a few things I am working on to get members on board. Thanks to Chris and Campbell for putting this forum up for us to use.

Posts: 520 Fri, Jun 5, 2009 8:31 PM Treasure Coast SW Club President Port Saint Lucie	Hi Guys, I think Treasure Coast Star Wars Club will work great I want to have a meeting this month to go over logos that were kindly provided by the Jawas. Also we just got three new members Rebecca Hank and Erin. Welcome !!! I want to have a get together with local members to discuss up coming events and meetings with the other clubs in the state. I want to get together with the 501st sometime in the next three to four months.So I want to discuss this too.I am going to try to post stuff a lot more on the forums and want people from the Treasure Coast Club to join in. We need to grow this through out the state. I want to have a meeting on the 28th at 2:00 pm I know it is short notice, sorry . But I want to have these once a month I know it is tough for people but I hope everybody can try to make it.We can also do some fun things at the meetings too. I am open for suggestion.
