My wife enjoyed the first Star Wars Robot Chicken. I need the second one on DVD.

Posts: 8 Thu, May 21, 2009 5:02 PM	I love this show - how it pokes fun at all the thigs we grew up with and loved as kids growing up in the 80's. I really enjoyed the first Robot Chicken SW and have seen it at least a dozen times at this point - unlike the stiff and mostly unfunny Family Guy attempt to do a SW show - Robot Chicken nailed not only the feel and characters of the saga but also made a lot of truly funny skits as well. Not too long ago I watched the second attempt of Robot Chicken to parody SW, and while not terrible by any means - it's most certainly not as good as the original. Let's just say it's like comparing the classic trilogy the the "new" one... 'Nuff said

I'm a Family Guy fan, but there was no comparison. Robot Chicken skits pack in so many jokes that are memorable that I would say these are the best parodies I've seen. I posted this back in 2007 and we never followed up on it: Arguably, Robot Chicken deserves its own thread here, but I saw part of a skit this morning that's not included in the SW Special. It might be a ComicCon parody, as it was definitely at a convention and had Star Wars and Star Trek fans fighting, SuperHeroes fans joining in, and the cloning of Leonard Nimoy. If anyone happens to find this on YouTube, please post a link. Funny that I mentioned the cloning of Nimoy, in light of this year's Star Trek movie.

"Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III" will riff on all aspects of the George Lucas' universe and will debut Dec. 12. The previous specials, you'll recall, were nominated for a slew of Emmy nominations. "We're telling more of a linear story this time that covers the series from start to finish," said co-creator Seth Green. In addition to Daniels and Efron, "Community" co-star Donald Glover and "Cleveland Show" co-creator Mike Henry will make their debut "Robot Chicken" appearances. In addition, Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian) and Ahmed Best (Jar Jar Binks) will return. "We wanted to take the Star Wars universe and see if through the eyes of our Robot Chicken: Star Wars Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, Boba Fett and Gary the Stormtrooper," said co-creator Matthew Senreich. "We'll still flip around the universe but we'll get a unique perspective from the bad guy side, from people who just want to rule the universe."
