Enjoy it Rich, I truly wish I could see it and look forward to hearing your impressions. I saw that Aaron is going to the Tampa performance on Sunday. I'm
jealous.
Oh, and sorry about accidentally saying it was yesterday. I'm travelling and am a day ahead. -Campbell

Well here we go, I wasn't going to go because of my back but I had to even if it meant I had to suffer. I got my tickets on eBay an got a real great deal
for $100.00. My son and I left around 2:00 pm so we would have plenty of time to get there and not miss anything. We arrived to the Bank Atlantic Center at
6:00 pm and you could feel the excitement in the air. People were dressed up in costumes and Star Wars tee shirts. My son was all decked out in Star Wars
clothes and he also brought his FX light saber. When we got inside the place was packed with people. Lucasfilm did a great job with all the displays the had
set up. We walked around and checked every display out.The most popular was Darth Vader,Yoda,Chebacca and C3po it was tough to get a photo because of the
amount of people but we managed to get are pictures. So it was getting close to show time so we got to are seats early and the seat were great not down low so
you would have to look up but at stage level. You could see how excited people were and we couldn't wait any longer. The lights went dim and the Lucasfilm
THX music started first and a chill came down my spine at that moment then the 20th Century Fox music started and they had material form the ceiling to the
floor to block the stage but you could see the orchestra behind it playing the music and then they dropped the material and the screen lit up with the
words" A Long time ago in a galaxy far,far away" and then it happen the stage lit up and the Star Wars title music started it off and the words
StarWars lit up on the screen. From that point it continued and they were showing clips from the moves and it worked great with the music. After that Anthony
Daniels came on stage an talked us through the hole saga.He made us feel write at home with Star Wars and he also added a little humor to the show.We went
through about 45min of music that you would think you were listening to the CD and Anthony Daniels telling the story line along the way. I want to tell you it
made me proud to be a die hard Star Wars Fan and words can't describe the powr of the show. The sound wasn't to loud so your ears hurt but not to low
ether. Then we had a 20min break and they came back not soon enough they played on and had some great effects, flames on stage when the Mustafar scenes came on
the screen and a great laser show.It came down to the last part of the show and up until then they played perfectly the orchestra and the quire the sound was
fantastic even when they played the Duel of Fates and the quire was pot on. The last song came to an end and it seemed like it was over when Anthony Daniels
and Mark Watters walked off stage and the crowed went crazy along with me and my son we were both screaming for more.Anthony Daniels and Mark Watters came back
out and Anthony Daniels asked if we want more and people went crazy chanting for more and he gave us what we wanted an on core it was great I can't
describe it. Well after it ended the lights came on we new it was over and my son and I looked at each other and did a high five saying it was awsome. It was
one of if not the best show I have ever seen and I give Lucasfilm and John Williams all the credit for bringing this to us it was fantastic and for the people
who didn't see it I'm sorry we can only hope that when CV comes to Orlando yes I said Orlando (I hope) they will bring the concert with them because I
would go to it again. I was very happy and I feel lucky to have seen something so spectacular and I hope my little write up give you the feeling you were there
too. This is just my opinion of the show and people might have a different take on it.I will post some pictures on Monday due to I am having problems
downloading them.I hope you guys enjoyed this I know I did. Thanks and "May The Force Be With You".

Ack! That's awesome, Rich!! Thank you very much for the description and the video. I have a far better idea of the show than I did before. And I didn't
want your video to stop. In fact, your quick videography from an angle already tells me this is something that could translate into a DVD somewhere down the
road. The performance sounded almost like the actual soundtracks so it looks like they went to great pains to play it the same way we remember it. I've
never had the pleasure of seeing an orchestra play live SW music, but I've heard enough recorded to know that it usually varies a good bit from the way we
remember it (from 30 year-old recordings).
That opening was really cool and I can only imagine how exciting it must have been to be in the audience. I think it would rival that first viewing of Episode I. Thanks for taking the time to do this, buddy. No fan left behind!! -Campbell

Great video and photos, Rich!
I thoroughly enjoyed the Dallas show as well. Wish I could have seen it down here with everyone, but I'm thankful that I was able to see it at all. Administrator - RebelScum.com, Wedge Collection Engine & The Registry

Revenge of A Musical Journey | #51 | ||

Just in case anyone's interested, Star Wars: A Musical Journey merchandise is available here. It's not discounted, or I'd seriously consider some of these t-shirt designs. If
you went to the concerts here in the States, did they have any of these items (with the In Concert logo, of course)?

I can't tell you all how much I wish I'd seen this concert. I just spent an hour looking for flights to see it in St. Louis or Cincinnati this week,
but the prices are way too high.
Here's a really nice 20-minute behind the scenes video from StarWars.com about The Making of Star Wars: A Musical Journey. I also noticed on the tour dates that a March show in Paris is scheduled. Could an August showing at Celebration V be far behind? -Campbell

Well it is back Star Wars in Concert check out the story below.
Star Wars: In Concert, the unique multi-media event featuring music from all six of John Williams' epic Star Wars scores, returns to North America on May 13, 2010 in Ft. Myers, Florida (May 13), beginning a fifty-city leg of the worldwide tour that will include dates in the United States and Canada. Over 350,000 Americans attended Star Wars: In Concert during its three-month inaugural 47-city North American tour last year, which Pollstar rated as the 9th biggest tour of 2009 in January. The tour's return to North America follows a month in Europe -- from March 7 to April 8, 2010 -- with stops in Dublin, Liverpool, Glasgow, Paris, Madrid, Lisbon, Milan, Antwerp, Hamburg and the O2 Arena in London, where it began one year ago. The production features a full symphony orchestra and choir, accompanied by specially edited footage from the films displayed on a three-story-tall, high-definition LED super-screen -- one of the largest ever put on tour. The footage actually runs in sync with the live music to create a full multi-media, one-of-kind Star Wars experience |

Since it is returning if we can arrange a large enough group we may be able to have a discount which would be sweet. I'll see if I can find any info.

I'm 100% in, no matter what. I will quit my job if necessary to see this thing. This is the best news I've gotten since finding out Celebration was coming to Orlando. If there's a bright center to the Star Wars universe, it looks like this is it!

Thanks for the reminder! Tickets go on sale on Saturday. Anyone have an Amex to see if they are offering a pre-sale for cardholders? I know they did for most of the shows last time.
I want to go as a group, but I think I also want to buy my tickets as soon as they go on sale. I want a darn good seat. Haven't decided if I'm going to try and take the wife. On the positive side it might be alluring for her as the music is one of the most universally loved parts of the Saga. On the other hand, I don't want to spend $70 to $100 to Force her to sit through another Star Wars event that she doesn't appreciate. -Campbell
